Would be interested to hear about success stories from anyone that has endometriosis. We have just started trying for the first time but I have endometiosis (had two large cysts removed previously). Am also 37. Thanks

I have endometriosis (and PCOS but that's another problem entirely) and am now a parent.
I've had diathermy surgery for this; my endo sited mainly in my uterus was removed with an electrical needle and or laser. It helped me to become pg but in the longer term the symptoms I've had have returned albeit less than before. Sounds like you've had endometriomas/chocolate cysts removed, those are nasty things.

Are you currently receiving any gynaecological care?. Do you have a good gynae?.

www.endo.org.uk is a very good UK based website to look at with regards to endometriosis. This is the website of Endometriosis UK, formerly the National Endometriosis Society. There is a helpline number and a lively message board on there too.

I had fairly bad endometriosis (and various other fertility problems). Was TTC for 18 months and a month after having laser treatment on the endometriosis fell pregnant. DD is now 5 and a half months.

Thanks Jem1969. Do you mind me asking what type of endo you had? I had two large cysts removed 18 months ago. The surgeon said he didn't see any scar tissue or damage to the tubes (so I'm hoping that sounds good?).

I've hardly had any pain from it for the last couple of years. At my last scan in November there was another cyst on my right ovary (it was 6cm but I think it may have been at it's largest because of the time of the month it was).

Thanks

I have two friends who were told in ther twenties that they'd never have children due to severe endo.

One got pregnant totally out of the blue at 35 and then again the following year. She had cysts removed when she was younger and only had one ovary so that's a real success story.

The other just ignored the doc and carried on trying; it took her 6 months and then 3 months to conceive.

It can happen so all the best, I hope you're successful

I have severe endo plus husband had vasectomy reversal nov 06. I had my first op june 06 and second august 07. Got pregnant and miscarried straight after second op but it showed me at least I can get pregnant (so sad but encouraging), am now on 2nd course of clomid so fingers crossed.

Consultants has put me on Clomid for 6 months. After 3 and following progesterone level blood tests, if no success I am to increase dose to 100mg. Then after the full 6 months if no success I have to have a further op in March. My adhesions are all over.

Worse news is my sister has just informed that after 1 month of trying she is 10 weeks pregnant. Total feeling of dispair and loneliness (despite hubby being the best). I feel lost and guilty for feeling jealous.
