So I had a BFP lat Wednesday, since then kept on testing every morning (I know I should stop!!) but they don't really seem to be progressing, but not getting any fainter as well, just wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience and had a positive outcome?
I'll post pic below. Most recent test was this morning and I'm now 2 days past missed af. Some slight cramps, but nothing major. Sense of smell is heightened a bit too.

Thanks x

If you feel comfortable testing everyday there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I've read many on sites like these say "step away from the tests" etc. Actually no !!! If your like me and have a history of CP or early MC these tests are a great indicator if things aren't quite going as they should in very early pregnancy. HCG should increase a minimum of 53 percent every 48 hours for a viable pregnancy. Pregnancy tests will clearly show this, they will either get darker or they won't. If they do get darker obviously it doesn't mean a healthy baby is just means your HCG is increasing correctly to support a pregnancy. I hope this helps. All the best with your pregnancy.

I have to disagree with jayjane you do need to stop testing everyday. You are sending yourself on a rollercoaster! You test, get relief it is positive, then start comparing it and agonising if it is darker or not, all relief is gone. You'll hold out in worry, then test again and keep repeating the cycle.
I would wait a week now and do another clear blue weeks, if it has gone up to 3+ weeks you know it is progressing. Altho I have seen some on here saying they didn't work for them. They did for me so can only go off my own experience.
Finally, I'm in Ireland, I'm assuming you are UK somewhere and I am learning our GPs are a bit different. I got my GP to do bloods very early on as I had, had previous MC's and could see the HCG rising

Hi @cakeislife123 it's probably not what you want to hear but I had a chemical back in November, tested every day & tests got darker but then started getting lighter again until I started bleeding. HCG should really double every 48 hours so the lack of progression id say isn't a great sign. Sorry, I'm only saying this because I read a lot saying 'the colour of the line means nothing' and I found it really frustrating as with my 2 other pregnancies they got progressively darker each day until I stopped testing. So for me, the colour of the lines did mean something. But I do really hope the outcome is different for you💐

Thanks, I appreciate the honesty. I've had a bad feeling from the start with this pregnancy and I'm not hopeful anyway. I think I need to lay of the tests for a few days and try again with a digital at the weekend might give me more of an idea what's going on xx

Have to agree, the tests are a good indicator.

This is exactly what I've tried to explain to my GP over the phone (via receptionist) and they've basically said a positive is a positive and referred me over to the midwife who have booked me in for a booking in appt. Not given me any advice or anything so I feel just stuck in limbo until either tests get darker or I start bleeding

If no bleeding by the time I'm 6 weeks I'll just book an early scan to put me out of my misery x

When I had an early MC in November I was reffered to the EPU. As soon as I mentioned my tests weren't getting darker the midwife looked at me said "hmmm aren't they" and pulled a worried face. I could tell by her face that wasn't a good thing. My tests never got darker from 13dpo to 18dpo and I started to spot from 19dpo. Tbh it prepared me, I knew what was going to happen. I'd of been more upset not knowing and thinking everything was going OK and then I went the toilet and noticed blood. This happened to me with my first MC. Seeing a good line progression gives some reassurance.
SunnySideUp2020 · 15/02/2022 16:47

I totally agree that testing everyday is a source of anxiety and never an actual true indicator of how it's going. But also not completely irrelevant and that being said clearly the lines are lacking progression. Maybe it is a matter of urine concentration or a slow start but I can see why you are worried. Flowers

Could you get some hcg blood test done 48 hrs apart?

cakeislife123 · 15/02/2022 16:51

I asked them if theyd do bloods and they said they don't do them! So frustrating I don't fancy feeling like this for another 2 weeks or so x

I am really sorry to hear. Being left not knowing is so frustrating.
Could you perhaps refer yourself to your local early pregnancy unit?
They might be able to help? Be more understanding?

mylion · 15/02/2022 17:03

@cakeislife123 my GP said the same, you can get at home HCG blood tests which cost around £30 each and get two to do two days apart to see if the number doubles, that's what I did with one of mine to make sure it's progressing, but it is a lot of money I appreciate. I found knowing the loss was coming prepared me so it wasn't so upsetting when it did happen. Being in limbo is horrible, I hope you're doing ok x

Where did you get the at home HCG blood tests from? I'd def be happy to pay for it if it actually gave me an answer as to what's going on x

mylion · 15/02/2022 18:49

@cakeislife123 I used a company called London medical laboratory, their turnaround time was about a day so really quick & it's easy to do. I was like that too, just needed answers x

MrsGHarrison87 · 15/02/2022 18:54

They should be darker than that by now. If you're past missed period then your digital should be showing at least 2 -3 weeks. Sorry to be negative.

whysoserious123 · 15/02/2022 19:00

Fingers crossed for you x

Whambams · 15/02/2022 19:30

Not sure if it's what you want to hear (or see) but this is mine from December.
I'm assuming because you're asking, you'd rather know Flowers.
Definitely check the other recommendations out from other users.

Thank you for your honesty, obviously not what I wanted to read but I need to know! Was yours a Chemical in December? Xx

No, pregnancy has progressed (again, not necessarily what you wanted to hear)Flowers
I just wanted to give you something to compare with xx

cakeislife123 · 15/02/2022 20:50

Ahh ok, congratulations! I knew mine weren't normal as my last pregnancy lines were so dark by now!
I read about a couple of people that have had healthy pregnancies after tests like mine but they're definitely the exception and not the rule it seems.
Wishing you a healthy rest of your pregnancy! X
