Hello ladies, we have been TTC for a year now. I am 30 based in UK and we are trying for baby #1. My GP has been good and has diagnosed PCOS following bloods and internal ultrasound. I am starting a weightloss journey, lost 10lbs since I was diagnosed, anyone else facing the same kind of journey, we can support each other?! Xx

Im 2 years into TTC. Probably have PCOS, cycles 31-141 days (usually around 70). Im about to be put on meds by assisted conception services as im not ovulating at all alone. Could also do with healthily losing a bit of weight and planning to weigh in tomorrow morning!

JoannaJellyBean · 13/02/2022 22:20

My cycles range from 36 to 65 days. What meds are they putting you on? I was tracking opks and I don't think I ovulate. All my research states weightloss is the key so that's what I am focusing on. Can't hurt and gets me ready for summer as a positive!

Letrozole @JoannaJellyBean - from whenever my next period shows up

I’m not TTC yet but am trying to sort my cycles our/see if I ovulate etc. In anticipation Of TTC next year. I’ve tracked my BBT since I came off the coil, used ovulation strips for the last twenty days and been generally paying more attention to my body using fertility friend app. I think I finally ovulated a couple of days ago and never been so excited for my period! I’m using inositol which I think is really helping my symptoms.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/02/2022 23:09

@CRbear do you have a PCOS diagnosis or irregular cycles?

CRbear · 13/02/2022 23:12

I have both. I’ve only ever had about 5 natural periods in my life (I’m 32) - I’ve been on contraception for a lot of that time though. I had a scan on Tuesday which confirmed I still have PCO, I’m a bit overweight too, some excess hair but not much luckily. No acne. Think I’m fairly lucky. I’m amazed I’ve potentially ovulated so soon considering my history with no periods really and j can only think it’s the inositol.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/02/2022 23:17

That's great @CRbear! Unfortunately inositol didn't work for me but does have a great evidence base. @JoannaJellyBean it's something you could consider. Also Joanna - has your gp referred you to assisted conception yet?

Hello! Recently diagnosed with PCOS and have been TTC for a couple of months. Was shocked to get the diagnosis tbh as dont have that many symptoms (only symptom was weight gain). My hormone levels came back with v high testosterone and subclinical hypothyroidism. I have an ultrasound next week and have been referred to an endo to speak about hormones but apparently there's a long wait list for that so not sure when I will get seen. I have v regular 30/31 day cycles and seem to ovulate according to BBT and OPKs but not sure whether PCOS is interfering with egg maturity/quality and have heard that high TSH levels like mine can affect fertility also. My BMI is about 28 and should really try to lose some weight but find it hard. Nice to be on this thread w other PCOS TTCers!

Hi! I've been TTC for a year and was diagnosed with PCOS 5 months into TTC. Blood tests have always been 'normal' but I have very infrequent cycles and mild acne. I've always had gut/digestion issues and I think this is the main driver of my PCOS. I'm on my fourth cycle of letrazole/first cycle of IUI this month through the NHS, although it's looking as if the cycle will be cancelled due to overresponding to it. Glad to talk to other PCOSers!

CRbear · 14/02/2022 11:22

@JoannaJellyBean what is next for you? Don’t let the GP fob you off with weight loss alone will you? PCOS makes it hard to lose weight so saying you need to do that (without further help!) is a cop out. It often leads to a vicious cycle where you feel terrible because you can’t lose weight to have a baby and then eat more and gain weight! I’m
Not saying it’s the case for you but doctors simply stating that’s what you need to do gets my goat! Have you discussed metformin (or maybe you’re not thinking that will help As inositol didn’t?) or clomid etc.?

Alexis7890 · 14/02/2022 12:24

Hey, I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago. Got married in October and have our first fertility appointment with a consultant tomorrow. I don’t really have any cycles at all so hoping we can get things moving fairly quickly. Not sure what happens at the first appointment and what they do next etc.
