Recurrent miscarriage clinic

Hi,

Just looking to see if anyone has a similar experience and can offer any sort of advice, and me having a general moan.

We've had 3 miscarriages over the past 2 years (3rd one happened about 5 months ago). Two of the miscarriages were due to chromosomal abnormalities and the third one we don't know (I'm assuming it is also because of a chromosomal abnormality). Our recurrent miscarriage appointment finally rolled around (it took 5 months for it to happen) and while I am happy to have tests done I'm very upset that we can't keep trying during this time. My appointment to get bloods taken is in 6 weeks and I just can't deal with how far away that is.

Should we just keep trying anyway? Will they find anything in these tests (seeing as my past miscarriages are from chromosomal abnormalities)? Has anyone had a similar experience and offer advice?

Basic blood tests they'll do are antiphospholipid (clotting), progesterone and thyroid which your GP can do to speed things up.

I mean this gently, but what would be the point in trying before you've had the investiagtions? I was told the same, and it's frustrating, but not as bad as another miscarriage.

@SuperSange Thank you for the reply and I understand what you mean. However, from what I have seen so far is that they usually don't find anything through these investigations. We've been told for our 3 miscarriages that it's bad luck and that we should keep trying by other doctors/counsellors. So I'm really at a loss as to what to do.

I was found to have an undiagnosed blood disorder.
