Low AMH

Hello,

Looking for some reassurance. I’m 25 yo and had a recent fertility assessment after ttc for 12 months. I have low AMH for my age at 7.4pmol but my AFC was normal. Had FSH tested previously but not on day 3 and was told it was ‘normal’ (no figures were given). The specialist didn’t seem concerned and told me to wait another 9 months before going back. He said the AMH is not something to be too worried about because all of my other markers are fine, but I can’t help but worry.
I have no PCOS, no endometriosis, history of 1 miscarriage (which he said is good as confirmation I can get pregnant), and open tubes.
Anyone else have similar experience or can offer some more insight into this. My doctor believes it won’t be a concern until I’m 33 and basically he said try now rather than later but don’t be too worried!

I believe that given time, most people do conceive naturally if there are no identified issues so due to you being so young, they are probably just giving it time to happen naturally although it’s very frustrating for you. Regarding AMH I don’t believe it is very significant unless you are going down the route of IVF. I think it’s most helpful for predicting IVF success. I don’t believe you would eligible for IVF until 2 years of trying anyway. I hope this helps, sorry it’s probably not the answer you were looking for. I know how awful this waiting game is xx

If it helps, even though your AMH is low for your age take comfort from the fact that your young eggs will be better quality than someone older with the same AMH x
