My periods can be every 2 weeks or every 3. I've been tested, as much as you can be, to see if I am starting menopause, and been told by GP that I'm not.

What are the chances of getting pregnant, if any?
When would be the best time to try?

You would probably struggle with every 2 weeks as your luteal phase wouldnt be long enough to support implantation. You need to get your cycle longer, your GP shouldn't be dismissing this if your ttc

Should have said periods lasts 2-3days too.
We aren't actively trying yet, but as I edge closer to 40 I am more than aware we need to start!!

Hello OP

No expert but my friend had a short luteal phase and short cycles and she was prescribed progesterone suppositories and this worked for her she has a little boy now. Perhaps you could speak to your doctor about that?

Do you track your ovulation and know that you’re ovulating regularly and when? Maybe if you ovulate early enough in your cycle then your luteal phase may just be long enough during your longer cycles. I think if it’s less than 10 days long that’s when it can cause problems.

I’ve seen posts where women have short periods of 2/3 days then ovulate very early on CD5/6 which means their luteal phase is still long enough and they have conceived.

I think it’s going to depend on when you ovulate and how long your luteal phase is etc whether you may have problems but your doctor should be able to help.

Wishing you lots of luck Smile

Thanks for the responses.

We aren't actively trying, using withdrawal, so if it happens it happens and we won't be flustered by it.

But we didn't withdraw the day after my period and it's a awful long wait for something that doesn't have a set schedule!!

Guess I will have to wait and see!!

My friend was 38 and it was her first child if that helps at all too. Good luck!

Thanks Newbiemg. We have a little girl already, so I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.
