Anyone used a FertiLily cup?

It takes me a while to fall pregnant and I've purchased one.

Anyone bought one? What were your opinions?

Hi, yes I've used this for a couple of months now, still no success and yet to get a BFP! To be honest, I have trouble keeping it in, as it tends to slide off quite easily especially when I invert it as instructed.

Chanel05 · 07/01/2022 17:32

Fair enough. It had good reviews so thought I'd give it a try! Going on the average of my previous pregnancies, I won't conceive until May time, having started in September 😵‍💫

@Chanel05 I tried it but couldn't get it in and after a huge fight ended up quite sore! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I will try it again sometime.

lakejupiter · 10/01/2022 14:03

I'm using one! It's my first month TTC with home inseminations - because me and my coparent aren't DTD lots of people recommended this to give the sperm an extra bit of help. I use it in combination with pre seed. I also do find it a bit of a faff and I worry that the act of putting it in displaces some of the sperm? But then once it's in it feels quite secure and it was nice to know that most of the sperm were sat up right by my cervix until I removed it. I would def recommend practicing inserting it a few times! I do the method of turning it inside out, putting it in as far as it will go and then tugging on the string to get it right side out and check it's secure. Then I do have to do a bit of shuffling and stuff to make sure it is going to stay in place.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 10/01/2022 15:01

@Chanel05 I've used a moon cup - probs does the same thing surely and it didn't work sadly... kind of haven't done it much since.

lakejupiter · 10/01/2022 15:05

@FlyOnTheWall89 menstrual cups do something different and sit much lower. But menstrual discs are pretty similar to the fertilily in that they both sit right against the cervix - higher up and much shallower. I've heard good results from using moon cup also though especially with home inseminations - you can put the sperm sample directly into the cup and then insert the cup!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 10/01/2022 15:11

@lakejupiter oh interesting. Then dangle upside down for a while Grin. It's just another thing to throw cash at and try I guess. X

Chanel05 · 10/01/2022 15:13

I decided in the end not to go for it. I'd ordered it from Boots but I'm not going to collect it. I never used one with my previous pregnancies!

I conceived the first month I used a fertilily. It might have been coincidence but as it was our 27th month trying and that was the only thing we did differently I think it helped

lakejupiter · 10/01/2022 15:23

They are really great for home inseminations and make it so much easier! But I don't know how much difference they make if you are DTD? It's pretty standard to use a soft disc or cervical disc for home insems

Indianna2006 · 10/01/2022 18:33

@Chanel05

Hey!

I purchased one last month as was into cycle 8 and it seemed logical in my head. The more sperm closer to the cervix nearer to the EWCM to help them survive and swim through the cervix.

I didn’t find it too bad to use. I have to hold it a bit while inverting it though as yes with sperm inside can be a bit slippy 😂

No luck with it last month though but have used it again this cycle 3 out of 4 times dtd over fertile period. So I’ll keep you updated if it’s a success.

Cycle 9…we started ttc in May..

Tinkerbell098 · 10/01/2022 18:47

@Timeaftertime21 yes I also have a similar issue. Also, I don't think I'm pushing it in all the way, it tends to just be at the bottom of the cervix than higher up. If anyone's got any tips please let me know. This is the third month trying. We've been TTC for over a year now.

RMS0209 · 24/01/2022 17:25

Hello,
Did anybody have success this cycle with the cup? I am interested in buying one for next cycle.
Thanks x

@Chanel05 thank you for letting me know x
Tinkerbell098 · 25/01/2022 00:31

@RMS0209 no it hasn’t worked for me yet. I have trouble fitting it in so may not be using it as intended.

One of the girls on another thread mentioned the below. Maybe worth a try?

Just wondering if anyone has had any success?

RMS0209 · 12/04/2022 22:36

Hi @Decaffe I haven't used mine yet still x

Mim21 · 12/04/2022 22:49

I'd been trying for a few months then the month I bought this and used it I got pregnant, I figured it couldn't hurt, and i left it in there longer than it mentioned tbh! Also used a bit of conceive plus during some dtd xx

You have my tempted to try use mine! I should get my peak in the next few days hopefully
Thissucksmonkeynuts · 13/04/2022 08:03

I can't see how it would be better than a properly fitting menstrual cup? I used mine when ttc, I read that it doesn't actually raise the chances of conception (before anyone asks for the data, I'm not going to go back and look), but it is great for reducing stinky underwear.

Panda2234 · 27/06/2022 06:38

I'm hoping to use the fertilily or something similar on my next cycle if I haven't fallen pregnant by then. Been ttc for 10 months now. Ovulation tests, him and her pills and still nothing. My periods are regular and I'm certain there is nothing wrong with my fertility. I've heard a lot if success stories about the cups. If my partner does have low sperm count and motility then I'm hoping this cup will increase our chances. This ttc business is a roller-coaster of emotions.

Flederjo · 27/06/2022 07:09

It was way too fiddly for me.
I found (and had success with!) the Softcups/Softdiscs so much better. They look massive but were just way easier to handle. Think I got them on Amazon or eBay.

Anyone used a FertiLily cup?
Chanel05 · 27/06/2022 11:34

@Decaffe I never used one at all but I fell pregnant in march and I'm now 14+4.
