Hey ladies,
So me and the hubby have been TTC for 4 months now (although I reckon at least a couple of those months wasn’t the best effort lol). Anyway it’s CD29 for me, with a cycle length of normally 28-32 days and ovulation was 10/11 days ago confirmed with LH tests….and I’ve just got my first positive results this morning on both a clear blue and a FR. Naturally I want to be really excited but I know that chemical pregnancies can be really common, so has anyone got any experience with what to expect if it’s a chemical? At what point do HcG levels start to drop off if it’s chemical and how strong a signal do chemical pregnancies give?
I was planning on testing each morning for the next few days, so am I safe if I manage to get to 15/16DPO with a strong signal?
Sorry for the worrying, honestly I had no idea just how much luck and sorcery is involved with the whole conception process haha
Thank you in advance :)

It can vary! For me, both chemicals ended a day or two later than normal luteal phase – if I hadn’t been tracking or testing I wouldn’t have known, though perhaps would have noticed massively unusual backache the day before my period arrived.

For others it can end a little later. Both times for me it felt just like a fucking monster evil period but nothing not manageable at home with paracetamol and a hot water bottle and tears.

If you want to keep testing, do it every 48 hours as that’s how long it takes hcg to double – testing more frequently may cause undue worry. And always at the same time/wee so you’re comparing like with like.

Try not to worry, though it’s impossible not to – if it’s chemical, there’s NOTHING you can do about it, it’s very much “what will be will be”.

Thank you for that! That's really helpful!

Sorry to hear about your two CP's! One is bad enough!
But yeah I'll just have to be patient...although not something I'm particularly good at Blush
Keeping my fingers crossed it hangs around!
