Shorter cycles at 31 years old

Does anyone have any experience with cycles getting shorter? Eg going from a regular 28 day cycle suddenly dropping to 27, 26, 25 and now 24! We have been ttc and now I'm worried that this means something is wrong with me.

Has anyone gone through this? I will schedule an appointment with my gp. We have one ds almost two and he was conceived fire time around so naturally quite worried now.

Have you had three vaccines? All three of mine made the cycle after the jab much shorter.

Could be worth doing an AMH test using one of the online providers like letsgetchecked. GP might fob you off at 31 otherwise.

@Juno231 I did an at home one by one step but maybe I will try a professional one too. I'm also going to try doing temping and see if it gives any more clues.

@Decaffe I've had my two Moderna vaccines and due for my booster in January.

My cycles became shorter when I was in my 20s, they went from always being 28 days to anything between 24-26. We went for investigations after 6 months ttc when I was in my late 20s and I was diagnosed with endometriosis and low amh, both of which can cause shorter cycles. In the end we ended up having ivf which resulted in ds.

Interestingly about 6 months after he was born my cycles went to 28 days again and I was pregnant naturally within a couple of months. The pregnancy sadly ended in miscarriage and my cycles went shorter again but we did conceive naturally again earlier this year (currently 37 weeks) not sure what my cycle length was at this point as I had started down regulating for another ivf attempt but my suspicion is the downregulation effectively increased my cycle length.

So for me I think cycle length did indicate a problem and did seem to prevent pregnancy. On the other hand the ivf consultant wasn’t really interested and thought the problem was the endometriosis so it’s hard to know. It would definitely be worth pushing for further investigation though if you have been trying for a while as it may indicate an underlying problem.
