Me! 35-45 days! I have endometriosis though which causes irregular cycles. X

Day 63 here! (Should however mention that I'm age 40 and going to push the doctor to consider perimenopause)

Yes!!! Pcos and under active thyroid effects cycles, so I have been taking a long list of supplements and the past 3 cycles have been around 36-39 days which I was so happy about until this cycle everything's gone wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️

Really longgg cycles!

Yup, 45-141 days! ttc since March 2020, waiting for the nhs assisted conception services.

Thanks all for your replies! Will visit to the doctors soon. I’ve only been ttc and tracking cycles longer, but I have been off the pill for a long time. My cycles have never been regular though, even before the pill. They were always heavy, and all over the place! I do always wonder if I have maybe PCOS or something! When I had irregular cycles and visited the doctor previously, I was just given the pill and that just kind of masked probably any issues I did have! My cycles have been 50 days, 45 days, and now I’m on CD60 and continuing!

@TheDaydreamBelievers when did you first contact the doctor and what were the first tests etc? I know I haven’t been trying a year yet, but I feel like I should visit regarding my irregular cycles, as they’ve always been irregular! Have you been given clomid or anything like that to try and regulate? Thanks

@Peonies94 a mixture, I have metaformin, letherthyoxine (can't spell it, thyroid medication) and folic acid prescribed and then a very long (expensive) list of ones I buy.

I did a lot of research into treating pcos myself (my gp is useless) and because of my bmi they won't investigate if there's any other issues preventing pregnancy (been trying over 10years). Like I said last 3 cycles I was so impressed I saw hugeeeee difference and was excited about the 4th cycle but it's gone a bit crazy (period is 4 days late and negative tests)

I would suggest speaking to your gp to confirm if you have pcos first and maybe ask them to check your thyroid function (plays a big part in regulating hormones 😊

Yes, at one point i only had 2 periods a year Confused Diagnosed with PCOS around 7 years ago, 3 years ago started taking metformin in preparation for TTC, then last year did three cycles of letrozole and DD was born in June. Clomid wont regulate your cycles but metformin will. Clomid or letrozole shouldn't be used long term as there are some long term side effects.

In my experience GPs are not very experienced at PCOS - i got a referral to the endocrinology dept at our local hospital and they have been amazing.

Peonies94 · 18/12/2021 10:31

@beanchopper17 I know my bmi is going to be an issue too, I will go to the gp soon, but I’m worried about that! Will be doing everything I can to lower again in January! That’s good that it got more regular though, I hope your getting somewhere, goodluck!!
