Faulty test or chemical pregnancy?

Right so I took a test yesterday at a whim (9dpo) and I got the faintest little positive (pic attached) only today I've done a test and a FRER FMU and they're both negative. Anyone had a similar experience? Have I had a faulty test strip or could it have been a chemical pregnancy? AF is due Wednesday. I'm bloated abs really tired but that's hardly out of the usually for me. Anyone who can enlighten me would be gratefully appreciated!

That line looks a little odd to me as it doesn't seem to go the full width of the test. Might be faulty

It does look like that on the picture. In real life it goes all the way through but it is stronger at the top which is strange. Perhaps faulty indeed!

Why do you think it's not viable?

Nikkic2123 because I got negatives this morning with FMU after yesterday's faint line, figured it had to have been faulty but I'm not sure. I'm only 10dpo now so still early days.

Chemical pregnancy is such a horrible term :( can’t see why people can’t just refer to what it is, a very early miscarriage

WelshChicken · 21/11/2021 19:24

Teawithsugar40 you're right, in all honesty I've picked up so much lingo from TTC forums. A pregnancy is still a pregnancy.

Yes does seem a term that’s been bandied about so much that suppose has just come into common usage. Even the pregnancy charities refer to the term. Sad as what it indicates is so inaccurate, when thinking of 2 people actually having a little embryo created of how ever many cells, but enough to result in a positive pregnancy test is a miracle in itself. Although of course losing a baby further into the pregnancy must be absolutely devastating. Hope you have some happy news soon xx
