Anyone had a thin lining?

Hey there,

Looking for anyone who had/has a thin lining please, and did you get prescribed oestrogen?

I've had 3 failed ivfs and 4 natural pregnancies resulting in miscarriage. They've NEVER checked my lining during early pregnancy or during an MC or as part of my investigations.

Took it upon myself to take 2mg Progynova from ovulation this cycle.. as a way to thicken it up. Wondering if that's a good idea?

Lining has always been thin in ivf, so I think I could have mc'd due to this.

Appreciate your thoughts xxx

I always had a thin lining. Around 6.5mm usually. My clinic were okay with it so never offered drugs, but we had two failed transfers. And didn't conceive naturally in 3 years.

The cycle we finally conceived on I had started Accupuncture with a fertility specialist. I was a sceptic, and still obviously don't know if that was what helped, but after the Accupuncture my lining was over 7mm. If you can afford it then I'd say definitely consider it.

Hi @twinmum86 thank you so much for your response! Do you happen to know how much thicker your lining was from 7mm? I will defo look into this and congratulations on your twins! xx

I think it was nearing 8mm. It was a big jump for me. It was 5 years ago so my memory is a little rusty!

I tried everything I could find on google to help, hence going for the Accupuncture.

@twinmum86 thank you ever so much! It's very encouraging to hear that pregnancy can be possible with that lining... as I've hit 8mm before. It might help me to deduce that it's not the cause of my mcs too. Xx

Hi @Rachae I think we've spoken before. Are you taking letrozole or clomid this cycle as well? I took estrogen for my FET and it prevents ovulation, do I'd be wary of just taking it? Also, I'll need to stay on it ubyom 12 weeks, will you be able to get it prescribe ld?

When I did a letrozole cycle, I was prescribed it to help my lining as it was very thin on cd9 but I had a trigger injection as well to ensure I ovulated. X

Hey @venusStarr I remember you! Hope you're ok xx I ovuoate like clockwork on day 14 so never been offered clomid. I started taking the estrogen this cycle after I got the positive opk. No idea how it's going to turn out really as at the point now of turning myself into a science project! If I get a bfp ill stop taking it Xx

Oh that's good then @Rachae I was worried it would affect ovulation for you, but if you've done it after, hopefully that's OK 🤞 for you. I'm not too bad thank you xx

Thanks :-) I guess I'm down to a try anything mode! There's a very very faint line on the FRER today - 9dpo. Could be an evap but hoping not xx

That's a good sign @Rachae I've never had a positive at 9dpo 🤞 it gets darker. Let me know xx

Rachae · 11/11/2021 07:24

Hey @venusStarr it's 10dpo and ive got a clear faint line! Now I have no idea what to do about the 2mg prognyva I've been taking since after ovulation. It says not to take it in pregnancy ... So I'm worried about that but also if I stop taking it might the lining come away? They take it up to 12 weeks in a frozen transfer so I'm confused xx

Great news! @Rachae I don't think the lining would come away as you'll be producing progesterone and your body has hcg. Have you got progesterone on prescription? I might see if you can see your GP to prescribe it, as there's evidence in recurrent losses it can help. Or are you under a recurrent miscarriage clinic, I can't remember. Xx

beansprout55 · 11/11/2021 07:57

A lot of people who miscarry should and do get prescribed progesterone to support the pregnancy - ask for that too!! I'm on that now after a my first and successful letrozole cycle

Rachae · 11/11/2021 08:21

@venusStarr ohh ok thanks that's encouraging! Yes I've got 800mg per day for progesterone for those reasons 😊 Well fingers crossed for this one.. not getting too attached, just going to look at the line every few days and then get bloods next week xx
