Chemical pregnancies - advice needed

Hi,

I've just had my second chemical pregnancy in a row - first time I was just over 6 weeks and this time I was under 5 weeks. I've finished bleeding now and have now had a negative test (I didn't bother going to the epu this time to avoid blood tests, I would have gone if I was still getting positive tests a week after the bleeding stopped).

My question is whether I should wait or not... advice online seems to say there's no medical reason to wait but Drs would prefer you to wait until after your next period to make it easier to date.

What was your experience with it? Did you bother waiting or just go for it?

This isn't my first pregnancy - I have a daughter who was born prematurely, my waters broke and we don't know why - so unfortunately looks like I'm never going to breeze through a stress free pregnancy as I'll just worry every day!

My doctor said not to wait and that we were most fertile the next three months. I'm pregnant this cycle after a chemical so maybe it's true?

That being said did your doctor class the six weeks as a chemical? I thought chemical was 5 weeks or less. Six weeks sounds like a miscarriage. We had a miscarriage followed by 8 months of nothing, a chemical and now I am 8 weeks with a heartbeat. They can always date it from your first ultrasound anyway.

Hey ,

I've had multiple CP and miscarriages and previously worried about the same thing.
I had a chemical last cycle but got pregnant this cycle so would definitely not worry about waiting. I'm under gynaecology so had early scans and everything looks good so far.

Wishing you lots of luck xxx

They didn't say either way to be honest - but I started bleeding when I was just over 6 weeks. This time I was around 5 weeks but I was dating that off the first day of bleeding I had from the miscarriage so could be wrong. Is that roughly right that day 1 of a miscarriage can be day 1 of a period when it comes to dating? I'm not superstitious at all but it's freaking me out pregnancy 1 ended with her being born at 29+4 and then the next 2 times I try it's a miscarriage 😣 I'm tempted to have no break and try again in a week when I'm due to ovulate because if it's going to happen again there's no point delaying it and at least the NHS will start investigations if it happened 3 times. (I checked Tommy's but they also only look in to it after 3+ times down south!)
