Hello,

Is the middle test a positive OPK?

I have been using cheapies from Amazon and the test line never goes darker than the control line. As you can see, it gets darker around suspected ovulation time and then lighter again, but it never actually goes darker.

I am using clear blue digital ovulation tests and I get the high fertility/peak fertility smileys with those, and I’ve had bloods done at the GP which confirm I am ovulating. I just can’t shake these cheapies, and the fact we’ve been TTC 2 years with no BFP..

Thanks!

I used same OPKs and yet to see a darker than control test line.
On a successful cycle I missed the peak completely, never got what could count as a positive, but the product of that cycle is almost 12 months old.

Don't let those cheapies dampen your spirit, especially when you have other tests showing ovulation.

Yes I would consider the middle one a positive OPK, I never got a line darker than the control line. I used to use the cheap ones to check and confirm with the CB digital that just gives you a smiley face

I never got any darker than the darkest one on the cheap ones. same with their pregnancy tests think it is because they only use a small amount of dye

If I were you, I'd abandon those and try the easy@home ones, they're also cheap on Amazon. I use them and they're reliable. I wouldn't trust any of your tests above as positive because I'd like to see them get as dark as the control at least. You're probably absolutely fine but those tests are too dodgy.

For me these would be negative.

On the day the line starts to darken, I usually test 2 or 3 times daily for 2 days and manage to get the peak (line darker than control).

ExPatHereForAChat · 18/10/2021 11:46

Also, some women get 2 LH surges and the first one is weaker and doesn't cause ovulation. So I would keep testing as you may then get another (bigger) surge later in your cycle.

Thank you all!

@Mc3209 @Temple29 @roro87 you have put me at ease knowing I’m not alone.. I get so worried seeing other people’s undeniable positive OPKs in case there is something wrong with me. Even better news if it has still resulted in DC for you!

@weathervane123 thanks, I think I’ll get rid of these tests (ovaview) and try your suggestion, ovaview has caused me nothing but confusion Confused.

@ExPatHereForAChat thanks, that’s interesting to know about the two LH surges. I usually stop testing after my ‘peak’ however one month I decided to keep testing and I received a second dark line much later in the month. This really threw me and I worried I had actually been missing my peak for months but then I ended up being a week late for AF so I think it may have been a one off cycle.

I prefer to use CB but they are just so expensive. I am getting to grips with BBT so i think I’ll try that and get the easy@home tests.

Thank you all✨
