TTC #1 at 41 - should I tell my GP?

Hi everyone,

I started TTC in April at the age of 40. At my appointment to remove my coil, the nurse said that I should tell my GP if I didn't get pregnant within 2-3 months as I could get on a waiting list for IVF and I'd be able to have fertility tests as well. He said that normally you'd wait 6-12 months to mention it to a GP, but waiting lists are long and at my age you don't want to wait around. Fair enough.

I got pregnant on the 2nd month of trying, but miscarried at 9 weeks, and am now trying again (currently at cycle 3 since the miscarriage). I'm 41 now - I don't think I'd be able to access IVF on the NHS now, and the fact that I managed to conceive previously makes me think they wouldn't run fertility tests. So is there any point contacting my GP at this stage? Anyone been through something similar?

@Miller2021
As your doc to refer you to the fertility clinic not to sound cheeky but because of your age. I'm 38 ttc num 1 have had 4 miscarriages and 1 cp and now in the hands of the fertility clinic and recurrent miscarriage clinic, the fertility clinic has put me on list for ivf but my consultant at the recurrent miscarriage clinic told me to put my app on hold as he running a load of tests and wants to c what they show first so sorry for your loss 💚
