Hi all,

I am considering freezing my eggs.

Does anyone know a good reputable private clinic in or near London where I can get this done?

City fertility are fantastic. Really warm and lovely. Do not go to London women’s clinic - they made several big mistakes and the doctor was so rude I ended up putting off egg freezing for a year I was so upset!

We had the same negative experience with London's women clinic! We did the fertility MOT which wasn't a great experience at all!

They're awful aren't they? They look so glossy compared to City Fertility but they're rubbish. Scanned me at the wrong time of my cycle, told me I had TEN MORE follicles than I actually had (I only found out when I checked the documents myself), they seemed to count follicles from person to person....plus the doctor I saw was hurrendous. He insisted on drawing diagrams about basic fertility, which I told him I understood already, as I wanted him to answer some questions I had with the small amount of time I was paying through the nose for. He interrupted me and kept going with this shit explanation. When I finally got to my questions (around success rates) he gave me statistics which I knew were wrong / made no sense together. When I called him out he said 'statistics werent his strong point'. Then, he asked me if I had a partner and I said I did but early days hence doing this on my own and he said 'If you started talking to me about fertility a few months in I'd run a mile'. As if he'd have the chance - he was about 65 years old. Absolutely hurrendous.

OMG what the actual...? How dare he say such a thing to you... that's just horrendous. We were really pushed to go for the IVF treatment ... after being told that my partner had difficulty. I felt like it was massive sales pitch... and any questions were ignored , followed by IVF treatment and an expensive consultation with a "male fertility expert". Basically, a "general" fertility consultant can't tell us anything about my husbands fertility results as if she missed that part of her training ...🙄🙄🙄

Argc is full on. Crgh less full on but still good outcome rates!

StartingAgain33 · 19/10/2021 10:47

@anniz91yes that's also shocking. That's it - they're very salesy and pay no attention to you and your questions. Did you have any luck with the IVF? I could really recommend Dr Malini at City Fertility if not! She's lovely and knows her stuff.

Hi @anniz91 👋🏼

I would highly recommend Dr Lynne Chapman at LCRH: lcrh.co.uk/

It's her own private clinic and she's very professional with a very lovely team. I'm with her right now and so far the treatment is excellent.

I don't usually post, but having seen the clinic's name mentioned here I don't want any other woman to go through the deep physical, emotional and financial distress that Lynne Chapman's clinic (LCRH) has caused me.

During my treatment LCRH twice prescribed me the wrong medication which significantly and negatively affected the chances of a successful egg freezing cycle, and when I raised my concerns about this they stopped answering my calls and emails, but kept the £10k plus that I had paid.

In addition, when LCRH's failures in my treatment started to have a significant impact on my health, the clinic put an individual with no medical qualifications, Chris Chapman, in charge of resolving my concerns and left me completely medically unsupported, and in pain.

While I appreciate that other patients have had good results with LCRH in the past, the clinic does seem to be in a period of disarray: during my treatment they moved premises at least three times, appointments were routinely rescheduled at the last minute, and calls, texts and emails mostly go unanswered.

I have of course made the HFEA aware of my experience, but that process is slow and in the meantime - like I said - I don't want any other woman to go through what I have done. Egg freezing is hard at the best of times, but should also be a wonderfully empowering experience. However it is experiences like mine that make women think it is just a money-making exercise by poorly supervised clinics.

Please think carefully before undertaking treatment with Lynne Chapman.
