This may sound stupid, but here goes!

To be brief - I'm on cycle 15 after losing my son halfway through pregnancy last year. Needless to say we have tried EVERYTHING, but no luck yet. Day 21 bloods fine, partner's SA fine. Fertility clinic referral sent off start of July but still no word of an appointment.

For months now, every cycle without fail I get the commonly talked about "left pelvic pain". However, I always get it 3DPO. It can't be implantation since I've never fallen pregnant after it 😂💔 I spoke to my acupuncturist about it today and she said it could still be attempted implantation, and then asked if I knew if I had any blockages/fibroids. The pain can, at times, stop me in my tracks and looking back on my app it does always seem to be 3dpo I log it!

To everyone who had an HSG/HyCoSy and did have a blockage, did you have similar symptoms that made sense once you were told a tube was blocked? We're at the end of our rope and considering paying £700 for a private test, but it would wipe out our savings so I just wondered if any ladies here had any experience to either support the case for going private, or put me in my place and tell me to stop being nuts 😂

Thank you!

I can't fomment on the pain, but I can say the hycosy was worth the money for us. Mine was nil issues but they told me it was very common to get pregnant in the first 3 months post hycosy. It 'clears you out'!
I got pregnant the month after the procedure, and had been trying for 8 months

KerryW87 · 29/09/2021 19:14

@bookish83 Thanks so much for sharing! Also, so glad it worked for you! 🙌💕 I've heard so many good things about increased fertility after having one. We'd really hoped to have it offered to us on the NHS but the way things are looking it could be a very long time for our appointment, and the more friends and family that become pregnant and the more time that passes since we said goodbye to our wee boy, the more desperate we're feeling to be honest.

Could definitely be worth looking into! Thanks! :)

I can't imagine the pain you felt. It is a lonely time when ttc, even with the best support around you.

All the staff at the clinic were so confident that it helps fertility wise, as even if there is a blockage, it can be 'cleared' and clear your tubes generally! Since, I have also heard nursing staff with gyne experience say the same. I did pay but would not have been referred via NHS, I did it out of choice.

Good luck Thanks I really hope you have success xx

I had a HSG and it was helpful in telling me I’d never get pregnant naturally. We went straight on to ivf and got lucky first time. I’m sorry you’re going through so much - it’s a rotten time ttc.

KerryW87 · 29/09/2021 19:50

@bookish83 Thanks so much, that's kind ❤️ I know, can definitely be lonely as everyone on this board will no doubt know - I have wonderful friends and family so I'm really lucky, but since we lost J I've been to so many baby showers (including one that was previously also meant to be mine...that was a bit of a challenge 😂), bought baby gifts, visited countless wee newborns. Delighted for all of them but just feels like a kick to the gut when you've tried everything imaginable and nothing is working. A friend text me today to tell me she's pregnant and that spurred me onto this desperate "private test" line of thought!

Thank you so much again, I think we will look into it privately and see if it helps us! 💕 xx

@Bex268 That must've been such a blow to hear that, I'm so sorry but I'm also so glad IVF worked for you first time! I've read accounts of IVF on this forum and my heart goes out to you - sounds like such a lot but so worth it if it works out like it did for you 💕

It's the pits, isn't it? I wish I could just give up, sometimes. Like, if my heart and head would just let me give up because the disappointment each month just gets worse. Anyway sorry, enough of that negative rant 😂 Just got to keep at it I suppose and hope it works one of these times! Thanks for replying :) x

Hi Kerry, I am not at this stage yet but I wondered if you could expand on the commonly talked about left side pain? I only ever feel twinges on my left side but don’t know why?

Best of luck for the future Flowers

KerryW87 · 30/09/2021 07:02

@Artework Hi! I remember when I first started feeling it, I googled it and read scores of forums where women talk about it being a good sign - a possible sign of implantation. It also tells you that implantation could be the cause if you log it as a symptom on Ovia. So I was very optimistic at first, but have yet to actually be pregnant so in my case it can't be implantation! I'm unsure of what else it light be, but after the acupuncturist asked me about it I did think maybe a HyCoSy could be helpful to see if anything is going on in there!

Hi there
I lost my daughter in April at 14 weeks and after that no matter what we tried it didnt work. I got hycosy done and got pregnant that same month so it worked for me. I do have a fibroid in my uterus they found but here i am.

KerryW87 · 30/09/2021 12:15

@Nking2021 I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ Sounds as though we are/have been in very similar situations. Im so pleased to hear that you were able to fall pregnant after the HyCoSy! :)

Do you remember if you had any pains caused by the fibroid? Or did you just have the HyCoSy as part of fertility treatments? The more stories I hear the more I wonder if I should just go for it privately! Such a lot of money, but we're struggling as a family after the loss of J and so from that point of view, if that isn't worth spending the money then what is? Thanks for replying :)

Im so sorry for the late reply. I ve had a stressful first trimester w all the tests and scans due to my history of having 2 losses. I had no pain and no symptoms for the fibroid. It was an accidental finding from my last pregnancy. I went do hycosy as part of a fertility treatment initial work up to find the cause of why we try so hard and didnt fall pregnant as easy and early as the first two babies (both losses). I conceive my (fingers crossed and prayers to God) now rainbow baby naturally after. I did ovulate 3 days earlier than usual for the cycle w hycosy and conceive which was weird and nv happened to me before. I hope it gives u some answers as to why you havent fallen pregnant yet or better yet have helped you got pregnant this cycle. I hope you will get to have your rainbow baby soon and my thoughts are with you. It’s a very hard journey and i hope you have the best outcome
