Is this an evaporation line or indent?

Currently 11dpo and had a stressful 2 months.

July ended in a chemical and last month very positive lines on tests getting progressively darker only to suddenly disappear and AF appeared a week later, so probably another chemical.

I'm 43 so odds against me at my age. Did this test today. Had zero symptoms so far, except sore boobs, but feels like period sore boobs.

I can see a faint line but not sure if it's colourless? Did another FRER last Friday and was stark white??

I can't add a photo but don't know if this link will work:

If you can see they didn't differ much from day to day? It was only when I left it a couple of days that I saw a difference. 2 at the top are the same and 2 lower ones the same not darker.

Hope that's helpful.

Thank you! I'm glad yours worked out. I've got a bad feeling, especially given my age, but there's nothing I can do, just have to wait it out

For both of my successful pregnancies I didn't see much clear "line progression" until about a week after I'd missed my period. I was obsessively peeing on sticks every day and in the early days there wasn't much to see. Sometimes i'd even get a random negative result.

I know this won't change your outcome, but please don't think that just because that line isn't getting predictably darker that means it's a chemical. Pregnancy tests aren't actually designed to measure differences in HCG levels, they are just designed to detect HCG and give you a yes or no answer. All sorts of things will affect how dark the line gets.

Good luck!

Thank you 😊

If I were you I'd give yourself a couple of days rest POS (it's so hard not too).

Don't count yourself out just yet. I'll keep everything crossed 🤞🏻

Thank you 😊

The lines look grey, test again in a few days using FMU and FRER

What is the obsession with posters jumping on someone else's thread to show their own tests? Don't you think it's a bit insensitive?
ShoeBun77 · 16/09/2021 11:20

Given what I am currently going through again after the last few months, I thought the same in honesty.

I'm actually so sorry, I thought I was making a new thread and then didn't know how to delete :(

ShoeBun77 · 17/09/2021 05:19

Just to let you all know and for anyone following this thread in the future, I did another test this morning and the line is so faint its almost negative. I think I knew in my gut that this was happening again tbh. I have an appointment with my GP later to hopefully get some answers. Thanks all for your replies 😊

I'm so sorry @ShoeBun77 that must be gutting. It's not easy trying to conceive at our age (I am also 1977 but haven't updated my user name in forever). Of course it may be nothing to do with your age so definitely get checked out! For me I think it is though.

We have to do IVF anyway so are in a different position but have just finished embryo banking and testing. After 3 months (plus a lot else before that) we have 2 euploid (chromosomally normal) embryos but even that doesn't guarantee us a pregnancy. We still only have 50% chance. It's not easy but I do believe it's possible.

I really wish you the best of luck. Xxx

ShoeBun77 · 17/09/2021 07:03

I always tell myself, anything worth having won't come easy, but holding onto that each month when your hopes are dashed isn't always easy.

That sounds brilliant news for you though and you have a 50% chance that it will work, I really hope you're in that 50 and I'll keep everything crossed for you xx

I'm still following. So sorry to hear this, @ShoeBun77.

So sorry to hear this OP. Hopefully the GP can shed some light. I heard of some people having recurrent chemicals because they were taking the wrong kind of folic acid, they needed folate or something, might be worth a Google/mumsnet post as it's an easy thing to try xx

Noodella18 · 21/09/2021 10:26

@ShoeBun77 here is a link to what I was talking about with folic acid:

mthfrfertility.com/blog/folic-acid-bad-mthfr-mutation/

I have read other threads which have said that taking FA when they had this mutation caused them to have multiple chemicals. I hope it helps xx
