Egg freezing & IVF on NHS Query

Just wondering if what my GP said is nationwide or just for our area. I forgot to ask/clarify.

Egg freezing isn't available in the NHS full stop unless you're having something like chemotherapy that'll wipe out your reserve.

IVF is only available on the NHS if you don't have any children.

Hi,

The NHS will freeze embryos and if your first round fails you will get a further two rounds using frozen embryos. If you don't get any frozen embryos on round one you will not be entitled to further nhs treatment they only do subsequent rounds with frozen embryos.

You will have to pay the annual fee of storage which is £385 for ours which is West Midlands.

You are not entitled to treatment if either you or your partner already has a child.

It can depend on your local authority. Ours had the no kids and would only freeze for medical reasons. I understand that others allow kids from a previous relationship not to be taken in to consideration.

Ah ok so by the sounds of it, it's a nationwide approach.

I've found those to be the same rules in the north east and London
