Hi, this is my first time posting. We have been TTC for nearly 4 yrs. I have had a MMC which became incomplete MC followed by EPRC, ectopic treated with expectant management and PUL which resolved on its own. I have been investigated for RMC and only finding was to take aspirin once pregnant. Had a HyCoSy which showed no abnormalities. We have now been TTC for 3 months following RMC investigations and am wondering whether it is worth considering IVF given chances are so low for my age? I don’t even know where to start exploring the options. Any lovely ladies got success stories or helpful advice?

I know 2 friends currently pregnant at 42 and 43 , one via ivf and one naturally. I’m 41 and pregnant via ivf.
It’s worth going to a clinic, getting a fertility check and understanding your chance of success. I suggest argc or perhaps crgh or lister. Have a look on the HFEA website for more info on clinics and success rates.
Also check your dp sperm as half the time there can be issues there.
I would take the vitamins in it starts with the egg. Also low carb diet and no alcohol. It is possible but you need to move quickly and get your checks done . Let me know how you get on! Also there are a few threads for over 40s on mumsnet which can help you on your journey x

Thanks for the reply and the advice. I have recently read it starts with the egg, which I thought was a really interesting read. Have upped my vitamins and cut out alcohol 6 months ago. It’s not so easy to cut out caffeine or carbs but I’m trying! Thanks for the clinic suggestions, it’s such a minefield with so many places to choose from, having recommendations really helps.
Will keep on trying naturally in the meantime while looking into the clinics.

Not too old, no. Best of luck.

Good friend had ivf success first time round giving birth at 44. I however had 3 rounds at 38 and never got an embryo to transfer. It’s so individual and impossible to say. I now have a ds using donated eggs.

Not too old . I was 40 with ds. I read people saying older mums are tired and can’t keep up - well ds is 6 and that isn’t true . I’m forever running around the park , playing football , baking . Good luck x

Hi there! I don't think you're too old to try IVF. I've seen and heard many success stories so I would go for it. The book is a great way to start, I would recommend listening to some ivf - fertility - infertility podcasts and following some IVF coaches on social. They are a great to help and they give amazing advice. Also, the site that has helped a lot to compare and to check clinics is the gcr.org , so if you have time check that one out too.

Not too old at all.

Wishing you the best of luck !
