Should I go on progesterone again ?

The last time I was pregnant, I was an anxious wreck, as I had had a chemical pregnancy a few months earlier.

I sought help from a private clinic and paid for progesterone/ hcg tests in the first weeks of pregnancy.

At one of the tests, the nurse read out the progesterone result and it was a little lower than the previous one. She said it was all fine, but I took note and asked whether I should supplement with progesterone. She asked the doctor and I got a prescription for it and took it until 12-14 weeks.

Now I'm pregnant again and not sure if I need to do all this again ? I called the clinic and of course they want me to go to the consultation. It's expensive and so are the tests. I can afford it, but not sure if I need to do it this time.

I don't want to regret not doing it and something happening to the baby and then blaming myself.

Does anyone have any thoughts / or a similar situation ?

Thanks

I took progesterone for most of my pregnancies, some I lost as there were probably other issues.
My progesterone was tracked every two days and even on 6 cyclogest and injections it never got super high. I actually think I had antibodies to progesterone and my body attacked it.
One pregnancy, when I ovulated my cd21 was 13! I did get pregnant but it never got a heartbeat until week 8 and didn’t grow properly and I do wonder if the low progesterone was the cause as I never took anything that time.
Personally, I would always take extra progesterone but alternatively you could just get your levels tested once a week to see if they are high enough to sustain a healthy pregnancy?

Thank you for sharing. I think it's better to be safe than sorry. So it's worth going for it I think you're right. It doesn't harm, but I think it does make your early pregnancy symptoms a bit worse. But I can deal with that I think.
