Chemical pregnancies?

I have had 2 of these is the 4 months that I have been TTC#2. I posted a question about pos damage o my womb through D&C about a week ago.
Someone posted the following:

IIRC having one chemical pregnancy increases your chance of having another if you conceive again within a year or so. Afterwards though your chances drop back to the same as anyone else. D&C doesn't affect implantation, but repeated forcible dilation of the cervix can affect its ability to stay closed during the later trimesters. I don't know how many is 'repeated'.

Wish I could remember where I read this. Was a reputable source, though.

I wondered, if I have had 2 now, does that mean I am back to square one?
Sorry for directly quoting you but I was alittle confused

I had one chemical pregnancy about a year ago and have not conceived since - however my circumstances are a little odd as my partner is overseas a great deal so in 12 months there have probably only been 4 times when it's been the 'right' time.

A chemical pregnancy is really a very early miscarriage - ie before the 6 weeks. You are only considered high risk if you have had 3 or more. As you have had two you wouldn't be considered any more at risk than anybody else.

Again 'repeated' refers to three or more.
I'm sure you will be ok.

Just to add that increased risk from 'forcible dilation of the cervix' is said to stem from D&C's AFTER 12-14 week mark ,ie. associated with second trimester termination, (from BIL who works in the field).

So it makes no odds really if you have 2 within a year?
And having 2 doesn't really mean that I am now back to square one in regards to chances of keeping the pregnancy?
It is just if you have more than 3 that you should possible get to the doc?

My D&C was after the birth (about 11 weeks after) cos they had left some placenta behind when they took it out by hand after my DDs birth.
So, in order to get any checks done on the state of my womb, I would have to have my cervix dilated?
But, as it would only be the second time, I shouldn't worry too much about that, in regards to later worries in pregnancies?

I had 2 d&Cs in 2 cycles (first-trimester mcs) last year and a successful pg this. Your D&C is unlikely to have damaged your cervix, and modern methods can usually avoid damage anyway.

As someone said, a chemical pg is a v early mc. 3 consecutive mcs are considered recurrent and warrant investigation, whereas two in a row are a lot more likely to be due to chance.

Mc is sadly common, the earlier the commoner.
