I know it'll depend on where in the country, but I'm looking for a rough guide from anyone who has been through it.

We've been TTC for 17 months with not even a hint of a positive result. My partner is waiting for an appt for sperm analysis (hes had the pot and no appt for 8 weeks!).

I've just asked to be referred too so we don't have to wait even longer. The docs said it could take "a while" - any clue on how long we're looking at for the initial appt?

A few weeks or are we talking months?! 😭

I'm afraid it does really depend on your local CCG :(

My initial referral went through in Nov and I had my appointment in Feb - which was deemed quick - my initial date was 17th of May but I guess they had a cancellation? From what I see on here, 3 months seems to be the average. That's why it's quite key to get the ball rolling asap at the 12 month mark as I'm afraid they do take ages. I had my first blood tests at the GPs last July and am only just now waiting to hear if my IVF funding application will be approved.

I hope yours progresses much fast than that! Part of my delay was that they won't refer to IVF unless it's been 2 years if you have unexplained infertility, but if they find something with either of you they do progress you sooner.
