I was 10 weeks on Saturday and had my second jag (Moderna). DH had his at the same time and on Day 2 I felt a bit worse than him (achy/tired) but feel fine now.

All the documentation I read in advance stated it was my choice but there are significant risks in the 3rd trimester if you catch covid (premature birth being the one that stood out to me) and I also got other vaccines in my last pregnancy (flu and whooping cough I think) and they're not live vaccines either so I figured it was about as risky as them.

Hi - totally understand. I went ahead as thought it was for the best I wasn’t battling covid whilst pregnant, that seemed the bigger risk. Also pregnant people pass on antibodies to their babies, how amazing is that! Take care, I know it’s a stressful time.

I had my first jab before I conceived and had my 2nd at 6 weeks. I am now 8.5 weeks and been absolutely fine. I definitely agree that it’s personal choice but it can be so much worse if you get covid in the 3rd trimester.

[quote Babyno1x]@Jadesx my midwife said she thinks it's best to wait until baby is born to get jabbed but that's just her advice and totally up to you

Which completely goes against the ROCG! Ridiculous

Think of it this way - would you question other vaccines (such as whooping cough or flu) that are routinely given in pregnancy? How much research would you do on these before having them? People on the internet can’t tell you whether something is safe or not, this is why there are guidelines in place. I’m consultant led and chatted through the pros and cons of getting vaccinated very early on in pregnancy, from her professional opinion (and at the time - early in the year) looking at cases of pregnant women getting Covid in their third trimester in America for example, the outcomes were way worse than the risk associated with being vaccinated.
