Night shift ttc

Hi all, I was wondering if I could get your input. I tried to ask this on glow but the people on the app are so rude and condescending Confused

I ovulate on the 6th of August, but I have been rota-d in for 3 night shifts at 8,9 and 14 dpo.

As I used to work nights, I know from my Googleing back then that night shifts can affect fertility. I am assuming this is if done regularly, but my brain is questioning whether a few between ovulation and my period may affect implantation, or just increase chances of miscarriage.

We have been TTC 14 months now after a missed miscarriage and I was hoping this would be our month... We have our first drs appointment in a week and I didn't want it to have to get to that... Sad

My question is, is there a chance doing some night shifts during a pretty important stage of conception in the tww will affect our chances this month?

Even if you don't know the answer or have insights, feel free to share your TTC pain :/ I thought after our miscarriage conceiving again would be easy. Every month hurts :(

I don't know the answer but i know how you feel as I'm in the same position. I work days and nights but plenty of staff in my workplace are pregnant so although it might affect fertility, it's clearly not impossible to get pregnant. We're on cycle 8 now and there's literally nothing i can do about nights because it's part of my job so I just try not to think about it and carry on xx

Thank you! It's nice to have someone in the same boat 😄 I hope you don't have to get to cycle 14 like me :( baby dust!

I honestly dont know, OP. Night shift does make it harder to detect ovulation as messes with basal temp a little bit.

I'm wishing you all the best - we have been trying since march 2020, one MMC in Dec 2020 at 11weeks (discovered at 12 wk scan), otherwise nadda.

Thank you for your reply! We had a miscarriage in March/April 2020. We also found out at 12 week scan that baby had passed at 5+5. Worst heartbreak I've ever experienced. I didn't end up bleeding until 2 weeks after, contractions were so bad I thought I had sepsis... Went to hospital and was told I was experiencing contractions 😭. So we have been TTC since april 2020 following the loss. I can't say "I know how you feel" because everyone processes things differently, but you're definitely not alone. I'm so sorry you had to go through such an awful thing, and I wish you so much luck and baby dust and everything else in your journey

I'm almost certain I conceived from a quickie before nightshift.

It was the month following a miscarriage ,I've heard that makes you more fertile not sure if that's an old wives tale or not.

I worked night shift every 3rd week for years, it did make TTC a pain because either my dh would be tired or I would.

It did take a while to successfully conceive, I came off the pill July 2019 and I fell pregnant October 2020.
