So this is my first thread on here and I just really need to vent. I've been TTC for 1 year and just got AF after taking an HSG last month. So naturally I'm just laying here crying but also beating myself up for taking it so hard. I had so many pregnancy symptoms last month I thought for sure this was it. I honestly just don't know how to keep dealing with this. I know it takes time for birth control to get out of your system but this feels so disheartening. Anyone else out there feeling the same?

It is OK to cry! Every month that goes by it gets harder. DS took us 16 months and 1 round of Letrozole Tablets. Hang in there. Have you spoken with your GP? X

Thank you so much. I'm so happy that it worked for you!! I've been seeing an OB and they did basic tests and can't find anything wrong. My cycles are regular and normal. My HSG showed my tubes are wide open. I've made an appointment with a fertility doctor to see what they can do for me.

That was the same with me. Nothing unusual showing for me or DH. We got to 15 months then they gave me 5 cycles of Letrozole and if that didn't work it was on to IVF but luckily fell pregnant on the first cycle. I hope you are able to get some additional support and get your BFP soon!

We always went for a meal out when AF arrived and enjoyed a large glass (or 3) of wine which helped soften the blow a tiny bit

That's amazing! It really gives me a lot of hope.
And the dinner and wine sound like a great idea.

@kealey22 Hi there, just reading your post and can totally relate! My partner and I have been TTC for 22 months, had all the tests done, been told everything looks perfect and put in the ‘unexplained’ category (personally I don’t believe in something being unexplained.. there has to be a reason!) I had a HyFoSy done last month and was told that it can increase fertility afterwards so when AF showed up, I was pretty upset. I’ve had a script for Letrozole from my specialist lying around for a while (wanted to try acupuncture and herbs first - didn’t work) and have just started on it 3 days ago. After a bit of research and looking back through my blood tests, I noticed that my estrogen levels during my follicular phase were higher than the range given. My GP never mentioned this to me?! As Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor, it suppresses estrogen levels preovulation so I’m really hoping that Letrozole helps us.. will try for 6 months and see what happens. Could be worth a try for you too? Worth asking your specialist about. I also bought a fertility friendly lubricant that mimics fertile CM - have you tried this?

@idieh05 did letrozole work for you? I've been ttc for 2 years and I've only just realised how closely my symptoms match to an estrogen dominance. Meant to start ivf in a few months but thinking of asking for a round of letrozole..

@Babydust2024123 unfortunately not.. still on this shitty journey, almost 6 years in. I’ve since done 2 rounds of IVF and 3 transfers but no success. I found out late last year that I had silent stage 3 endo which has now been removed. I was hoping this might be my answer but am losing that hope with each month that passes. Wishing you all the best on your journey 🩷
