Hi folks.
I went for the Hycosy test today (check fallopian tube patency) as we have been TTC for over 2 years (one previous naturally conceived child 6 years ago). They thought they saw some right tube on my previous vaginal scan so they warned me the test wouldn't go ahead if they saw a blockage on the repeat scan today.
The sonographer said she could "see what they were taking about on the right" but that it might be a cyst or something.....thoughts?! What does a cyst on the fallopian tube mean?!
She then proceeded to do the dye test (so I was thinking great, can't have a blocked tube then!) but she couldn't insert any type of catheter as she said my cervix is like a pinhole! So I will have to have the dye test and dilatation of then cervix, likely under general anaesthetic.
I was then rushed out the room and told to chase my local fertility clinic who originally referred me for the test, so they can refer for the surgery etc. I've been left with lots of questions and am freaking out a bit as I don't know what this means or what could cause it. Google has given me some scary explanations such as cervical cancer. I'm also worried the waiting list for the dilatation and test could be very long, especially given the impact of COVID, and its been 2 years already. I don't even know if there is any point still TTC in the interim. But then I think that I have regular 3 day periods every 5 weeks so how can my cervical opening be that tiny?
HELP ANYONE!
