Pregnant with Adenomyosis?

Has anyone managed this either naturally or via ivf?

I've been diagnosed with mild adenomyosis and my consultant has said it might be a problem but it might also not be as mild cases can often not be an issue. Any thoughts anyone?

Fearing I will end of fighting this for years through ivf with a small likelihood of success

I've got adenomyosis, not had a successful pregnancy yet but have conceived naturally and by ivf. My consultant wasn't too concerned about mine as it is mainly at the top of my uterus. I think if it's around the cavity it is more difficult. There's a Facebook group called Adenomyosis Miracles and lots of people on there have had successful pregnancies with it.

Adenomyosis is very personalized. What is normal for one woman won't be for another. I personally have had Adenomyosis my entire life. I suffered with symptoms since I started having periods at 13, and was officially diagnosed about 10 years ago. At first it was severely painful periods, then five years ago it got much worse, and now I have chronic pain most of the month. My periods had become much heavier than even my "normal" which was severely heavy to begin with, and severe uterine swelling and pain during my ovulation week. That being said, I have not had any issue with fertility or pregnancy complications. I am currently pregnant with child number 5. The first two babies were textbook pregnancies and were both born on their respective due dates. The 3rd was a normal pregnancy, one week late, and enduced. I did bleed a little more than normal after delivery, which could have been the adenomyosis or that I also battle with anemia. Either way it was quickly fixed with a couple shots in my thigh, and no further issues. My 4th was also a week late, but no complications whatsoever. And I am currently carrying child number 5. The only symptoms I can contribute to adenomyosis for sure is, I do seem to have a lot of cramping and uterine tenderness the first couple months of pregnancy, and labor contractions are much more painful, but even then I was able to have 2 of my children without pain meds, and am going to try again with this one, with the thought that an epidural is only an ask away Wink.

I know this is a long post, but there really isn't a lot of information online about adenomyosis, and most doctors aren't much help either when it comes to fertility, pregnancy, and this condition. Most of what I find is horror stories or speculation.
I'm hoping that this helps some of your fears or worries, and shows that it may be a scary or painful condition, but it does not mean that everyone with adenomyosis cannot have happy healthy babies and pregnancies.

@LavaMomma thank you, I know that everyone is different but thank you so much. It's made me feel a lot better to know that it is at least possible. Can I ask how old you are?

@VenusStarr thank you also, that's really really helpful, mine is also mainly in the top of my uterus so fingers crossed it's going to be fine
