Can your womb be damaged by a D&C?

I am a little worried because I have just had a second chemical pregnancy in 4 months.
Do you think that having the placenta removed by hand during my first birth and then cleared up later by D&C (they left some behind) could have affected my womb and it's ability to hold onto an egg?

no if anything have heard the opposite,d+c tends to give a fresher lining to the womb due to it being cleaned it. A lot of people have caught on withint first 3 mths following d+c[i was one of them]. How does your hospital work in terms of mc? I had 2 mcs before concieving ds then a mmc[resulting in d+c] in between ds and dd1.

You can have something called Ashermans (?) It's where they have dmamaged you abit and the 2 sides have fused together.

Most of the time it can be very good for your uterus as it cleans it out.

IIRC having one chemical pregnancy increases your chance of having another if you conceive again within a year or so. Afterwards though your chances drop back to the same as anyone else. D&C doesn't affect implantation, but repeated forcible dilation of the cervix can affect its ability to stay closed during the later trimesters. I don't know how many is 'repeated'.

Wish I could remember where I read this. Was a reputable source, though.

Oh, now I feel that maybe I shouldn't bother the doc this afternoon
I am only 4 cycles in.
So having one Chemical Pregnancy can mean that I have an increased chance of another, so does that mean I now have increased chances of yet another or more of it actually sticking?
Oh, I hope it is the second.
Thank you ladies for your input

Fairysnuff I'm interested to know how you got on at the doctors. I told you on the waiting room thread I've had two chemical pregnancies so I'm really interested to hear what your doctors thoughts were?

Oh, sorry mumstheword I cancelled the appointment in the end. I just felt that they would dismiss me or say wait and see for this month. Or the dreaded, 'it's probably not happening because you are over thinking it, relax and it will happen.'
And even if they had taken me seriously, I thought it would be worse for my body to have a forced dilation.

Ok, hands up, I chickened out for fear of sounding like an over obbsessed woman, in RL. I can do it safely here but not so sure I can voice my thougths to a doctor.

I think, though, that I will see how I get on this month. If nothing again, or I feel that I get symptoms, then I am right off to the doc, don't care how they might mock me.
