I underwent ivf in 2016 and had my DC in 2017 at 38. I have 3 embryos in storage.

Because of some unexpected life events parenting my DC was very tough in the early years and I didn't use the left over embryos so they are still in storage.

Now I'm 45, and I am wondering if I would be allowed to use those embryos, I am up to date with storage payments and paperwork but I don't know if there is a cut off for implantation. Does anyone know? I've asked the NHS clinic but they've not responded.

@Lebe14 you should definitely look into this. In my case fresh transfers didn't actually work because I was too messed up by the medication so frozen was successful for me and that's been the case for a couple of my friends too. As others have said the younger the eggs the higher the likelihood of success too.

Thanks all for your advice and sorry again about jumping on the post. Really interesting and definitely something I'm going to think about / read up on. I'm in the UK so no idea what costs could be, but let's see. Thanks again! X
