Hi all!

I'm 33. I'm trying for my first baby. I had a miscarriage 3 months ago and am just really worrying that's my future. I also have a clotting disorder and am overweight. Anyone else in this boat? If so, how are you doing?

Hi.

Sorry to hear about your MC.

I'm 32, nearly 33. Been ttc#1 for 12 months now. Not even a hint of a bfp. I'm concerned I may have under active thyroid or maybe PCOS. I'm also overweight (BMI 27.7) and have irregular cycles (27-36 days). I've had a consultation with GP this month and being sent for bloods. Struggling this month with the realisation that nothing has happened and thought it would be easier than this.

Hi I’m 33, overweight, pcos, ovarian failure. Partner is having treatment for hormones which causes issues with his sperm etc

I’m 6 weeks pregnant Grin

I know it’s hard and so many people say it but just relax, figure out when you’re ovulating and have fun. Good luck ♥️

Mymapuddlington · 01/07/2021 19:36

@LemonDrizzle44
I didn’t have a period for over 12 months, the doctor gave me something to force one, was still very irregular and skipped months but if you have a chat with gp maybe taking meds to bring it on regularly might help?

So sorry for your loss. I started TTC age 32. I suggested getting the book 'It starts with an egg'. Get the newer version, and just get a 2nd hand copy off ebay. Worth a read and might help.

I was only just in the overweight BMI, but had a stressful job and TTC 4yrs. DH and I both lost 10kg each, and conceived straight away! Unfortunately, I then MC, but weight can certainly play havoc with TTC and should be something you prioritise in your TTC journey. best of luck x

@Mymapuddlington congratulations. My GP is pretty useless. Im pretty sure I'm ovulating. I use OPKs and track BBT. I ovulate anywhere between cd12 and cd19 with a 16 day luteal phase (although this keeps changing). I'm thinking of starting inositol to try and regulate my cycles but want to do this after I've had my bloods (so I get a true picture of my actual cycles).

I'm 32, BMI 27.7, massive long cycles up to 100+ days at times. Trying for #1 since march 2020. Had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks at end of november 2020. GPs wont offer anything further until dec 2021 even though I'm clearly scarcely ovulating. Feeling hopeless

I bought and read that book ages ago. It's a bit hard to make all of the changes they suggest. Especially when DH isn't on board with changing diet/lifestyle/etc. sigh He seems to think "it'll just happen."

I got pregnant my 2nd month trying. So I really don't know that my weight has caused any conception problems. I know several people who are in much worse physical shape than I am and have had healthy babies recently. We're going on vacation next week, but after that I plan on forcing DH to either get on board with me or get out of my way. I'm going to get back to exercising regularly and cut back on my carbs. Really the only changes I need to do. I eat salad for lunch pretty much everyday, don't eat a lot of red meat, and try to get at least a few days of 30 minutes+ of exercise. Just gotta cut my sweets out.

I know when I'm ovulating. I've been tracking it for months. Had gotten pregnant my second month tracking and trying but lost it at 6 weeks. I don't think there's a magical "If you track and relax you'll get pregnant!"

There's no fun in this journey for me. Even if I do get pregnant again, I'm going to keep worrying that I'll lose it. I've experienced that devastation now. :(

But congrats to you.

@LemonDrizzle44 It's so hard not knowing why. :( My doctor refused to do any bloodwork when I was pregnant because it was "too soon" and then I miscarried. So we have no idea why I miscarried. I very much feel like doctor's just don't care. :(

If it helps, I was 35 when I started ttc for the first time. 12m later DH and I found ourselves sat in the fertility clinic being told I was too heavy to qualify for free ivf but they would start initial tests on dh in case I lost weight.

Halfway through dh sperm tests I found myself pregnant naturally! I'm now 49 with 2 dc 12 and 9.

Take hope!!

LemonDrizzle44 · 07/07/2021 13:36

@ShortnIcy it's soo difficult with GPs. Mine gave me a blood form with everything on it. The hassle it took to try and and explain that some hormones need testing on day3 and others of day 21! I though I shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job!
I had my bloods this week. So far LH and FSH within normal limits but LH is higher than FSH which I read can point towards PCOS. My testosterone levels are also raised. Thyroid came back normal. Just waiting to ovulate now to have day 21 progesterone and Ultrasound booked for later this month too.

ShortnIcy · 07/07/2021 17:24

@LemonDrizzle44 it always amazes me at how doctors can be so lacking. I really want my levels checked. I don't know why mine wont do it. :( Although I didn't even think about them all needing to be checked at different times. That makes sense.
