Hi Ladies
For those that struggle with PCOS , can you please help me with what vitamins and supplements you are using for conception?
My periods are really all over the place at the moment and wanting to start trying again shortly .

Hi! I just got diagnosed with PCOS (yesterday). I have been TTC for over a year with no luck and my periods have been all over the place. I started taking Conceive Plus Ovulation Support + Fertility Support a couple of months ago and since then have had two cycles that are 32 days long (assumed ovulation around day 18).

When I had a scan of my ovaries yesterday at the fertility clinic my ovaries were poly cystic and the consultant believes I haven't been ovulating (I have very high egg reserves so she suspects they haven't been released). But l temp throughout the month and this has indicated that I ovulated around day 18 in both months. Its all a bit of a dark art, as I'm not sure if I'm ovulating, but the tablets seem good in regulating my periods, so might be worth a shot?

I started taking conceive plus ovulation support too! It's too soon for me to say if they make a difference but one of the ingredients is myo inositol which is supposed to be good for PCOS.
I have 3 children. My first was a clomid baby. My other two I was taking metformin for my PCOS both times and with my third I took soy isoflavones on the cycle I conceived which I think helped!

@NoseringGirl Interesting! My consultant has offered me both Metformin and Clomid and I need to decided what to take, one, the other or both? I'm not overweight/have any other obvious symptoms so i'm unsure if the Metformin will be much use, but I am keen to get started on the Clomid!

Metformin will only help if you've got insulin resistance which is common with PCOS and can also happen in women with lean PCOS so weight isn't necessarily an indicator.
I'm not sure how much metformin helped me. I did conceive within a few months of starting it the second time but was also having acupuncture and made a lot of life style changes.
I was on it for quite a while the third time and I'm not sure how much difference it made.
I wasn't ovulating on my own at all when I had the clomid so that really made a difference for me. I didn't ovulate on the first cycle so the doctor upped my dose for the second cycle, I ovulated but didn't conceive, stayed on the same dose and got pregnant on the third cycle.
I've read for someone with PCOS the combination of metformin and clomid is what helps though. I guess it all depends on your individual circumstances. It's good to have options though!

I was diagnosed with inflammatory PCOS a few years ago. It’s more rare but it can happen when there’s an imbalance in the body (such as extremely low vit D or allergies to inflammatory foods).

Getting the body to balance is no easy feat. I’m still on the journey.

I’ve heard for insulin based PCOS, Inositol has had decent feedback. Sometimes they add it to Vitamin B tablets or you can buy on its own. Perhaps read up on it? It might help.x

Thanks ladies! Looks like I have some reading to do! Smile

Hi! I have insuline resistance as a symptom of my PCOS and I take Metformin, vitamin B complex, Vitamin D, K2, and folic acid. They are going to give me a more extensive set of blood tests in case they need to add some more prenatal vitamins in the mix. From what I understand, it's different for everyone. Good luck
