Hi, new here and just looking for advice.

Went for my first jab tonight and first question was are you or could you be pregnant? We've been trying for quite a while now so in 2ww which means i could be but too soon to know. On that basis i was refused the vaccine and told to wait til i know then rebook.

Has anyone else experienced this? I was getting Pfizer and NHS website said its fine but then the staff at the centre said no so now i dont know what to do. I live in an area where cases have doubled in a week so wanted to get it done and out the way.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I posted this in another thread but thought there might be more experience here.

Quite the opposite with me (also ttc). They practically went out of their way to convince me to have it (Pfizer).

Hiya,

I'm interested in this, initially in the beginning we were told "do not try and conceive within 3 months of the jab" now you seem to be able to have it at any point!? We are about to start transferring embryos in July and already worrying about the potential impact from the vaccine..I also don't want to catch covid whilst I could be potentially pregnant that fear alone is what's persuading me to get it!

@Cashewcookie its so odd it was a totally different experience for me! I'm going for blood tests tomorrow so will ask the nurse about it then.

@user1479588581 i expected it to be fine as all evidence says it is...if you're worried speak to your dr and get some advice?

I was extremely anxious about the vaccine ruining my chances of conceiving, given the limited data on the impact on fertility. A senior midwife who was volunteering went out of her way to assure me that they had been vaccinating pregnant women without any concerns and that catching covid was a far worse scenario than having the vaccine. She was really lovely, and was trying not to make a decision for me- but it’s quite clear that she thought there was no issues whatsoever, and that it was much better to have it.

I did have it in the end but have to admit, I do regret it (was quite ill after too). What she did say is that they would always give the Pfizer and not the AZ.

I work in data and so my brain has been in overdrive on this particular topic as all the advice had come from the drug manufacturer. This was the one study that has persuaded me to get the vaccine:

I had my first dose in Feb while TTC (although was having my period at the time, so deffo not pregnant).

Had my second dose last night after finding out I was pregnant (4 weeks) on Tuesday. I had the Pfizer jab.

Spoke to a midwife and a nurse before going to my appointment, both said I was fine to get it. Doctor doing the jab said he was happy for me to have it too.

If you can, I would try to rebook for the first half of your next cycle. Or if you're lucky and you're pregnant and decide to have it, I'd speak with a GP/midwife before having it, just to put your mind at ease.

Does anyone know about your partner having the vaccine whilst ttc? I’ve read conflicting information online, he’s been offered but we’re not sure?

I had my first does alon cd12. It killed my ovulation in the sense of it was building up and then it took a direct dip making me think I didn't ovulate for the first month in a long time. Then my period was late by 8 days. It was infuriating as I know I wasn't pregnant due to the lack of ovulation and the tests were clearly negative but everyone was saying that it couldn't have been the vaccine and it must be pregnancy...even though I had 6 bfns. I normally don't test early and I've only had a late period by 1 day so testing that often and waiting for AF for that length of time was horrible for me. All my apps ended up getting confused and now have no clue what my cycle will be like despite the fact the apps were always spot on by a day here or there. I have decided myself that I don't want the second vaccine now until I am in a position or waiting or not trying. I read that people sometimes do have issues with it affecting there cycle but it is temporary. I am CD9 now and tracking my ovulation etc so im hoping all if fine this month but I know someone said it affected theirs for 3 months. I don't want this to put you off as I know others trying that have had it and had no issues but I want to make you aware as this process is very lonely at times and being late and not pregnant adds to the loneliness. I believe the vaccine is perfect safe otherwise and should not affect things long term or general egg/sperm health
