First time using opk, which are my positive days?

Hey sorry this is my first time using opk. Just bought a box of "mom med" ones from Amazon and I'm finding them a little confusing.

On the days I can see only one clear line I KNOW they are negative, but from CD14 onwards I can see 2 lines.

According to the instructions this could mean a positive if both are strong or the 2nd test like is strong, But it could also mean a negative???

I'm pretty sure cd 18 is positive but what about the other days would you say they are negative or positive?

I totally get why now people pay the extra for clear blue smileys!

Cd18 looks high but I think it's not darker than the test line, yet. When you get this dark of a line, you should test 2-3 times a day to see when you reach peak. It could be a matter of hours. Either way I would be sure to DTD when it's getting to that dark point :)

Cd18 looks like you're nearing your peak.

I use an app called premom, you can input your tests and it gives you a score. It means you can tally your data a lot easier. If you chart bbt it cross references it too Grin

@SemiFeralDalek thanks for the tip, sorry what's bbt?

Bbt is basal body temperature. So when you wake up, before you get out of bed or move, you take your temperature and input it into the app (I do it orally).

Prior to ovulation your bbt is usually somewhere between 36.1-36.5. After ovulation it goes up to anywhere from 36.5 to 37°. You need a basal body thermometer that tracks to two decimal points. You can get them for about £8-10 off amazon.

Used in conjunction with opks it's taken a bit more of the guesswork out of it for me Grin

@SemiFeralDalek are you having to dehydrate yourself to a crisp state for those OPK lines or...? Mine are far far fainter (first month using them but had a x 3 fold rise this am) but think that may be it as far as a peak goes.

I have endometriosis and some talk of PCOS (but never really confirmed) in the past so maybe that's why. Interesting to see others charts though.

Good luck OP.

I don't dehydrate myself as such but I test with fmu, then when I get a high reading first thing I tend to try and do a 3/4 hour hold. I have suspected PCOS too and the biggest thing that's made a difference to me is taking 600mg of CoQ10 a day. That, vitamin E, b6 and b12 (high dose of each)... (I also took soy isoflavones this cycle). I would absolutely recommend CoQ10.

Those are easy@home tests which I also rate better than the one steps as they're wider and easier to read.

Fab thanks, that's helpful @SemiFeralDalek -
Also using easy@home tests

I’m so glad you posted this - thank you. I switched to Mommed this month and found them so confusing as I’ve seen a faint positive line every day so far (cd21). I haven’t had any dark lines yet like yours, so at least now I know what to what to look for. Was using two types, because I couldn’t trust Mommed before you posted these pictures. 🤞I see a positive soon.

Good luck on your journey!
