Three Chemical pregnancies

Hi everyone, I have been trying to get pregnant since september last year. I have had 3 chemical P in the last five months (at least that is what I suspect, I’ve gotten very faint lines from cd 26-28 up until my period starts). I have two kids so I have had two successfull pregnancies in the past (the last one four years ago). This is really starting to wear me down Anyone that has experienced so many CP’s and then had a full term pregnancy? Or has anyone experienced false positives on pregnancy test for some other reason?

Sorry to hear this :(
I had a cp a few years ago then the next cycle conceived our little one. I've now had similar to you at least 4 cps over 5/6 months :(
I had the latest one confirmed by scan as well and the lady told me my dr could refer me for recurrent misscarriages now. I haven't asked yet as I'm nervous but think if this isn't our month I will to put my mind at rest. Can you speak to your dr see if they can do any tests?

Hi OP sorry for your losses. We've been trying for 9 months for our first and I've had about 5 chemicals during this time. Have been referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic but no news of my appointment. My doctors aren't worried frustratingly and say to keep trying, that it's good I'm at least getting pregnant etc. Again all not helpful but I suppose it's a small positive. Im finding that GPs don't appear to know a lot about chemicals so apart from getting basic tests done like bloods and ultrasound I am receiving no other support which is difficult at times.

I'm taking various supplements and trying different things like acupuncture but nothing has worked so far. Trying to hold on to the hope that it will happen eventually. I hope for the same for you 💕

Thanks for the reply borh of you, so sorry to hear about your CP's also :( My doctor says the same thing apperantly as yours! He's not worried and says to keep trying, and that it's good I'm getting pregnant. I have gotten my blood done and ultrasound to check the uterus lining but that is about it. So the only thing to do is keep trying, I hope it happens to you as well eventually!

It happened again! 😡 This will be the fourth time since december 😞 Got a faint line on cd28 and 29 and AF on cd30 - really starting to lose hope :/

Wow sounds like all our doctors are saying the same thing. We had two miscarriages and now 1 chemical pregnancy last month. I haven't told my doctor about the chemical. It was a weird cycle as I ovulated very early... Maybe my egg wasn't mature. So we are trying again.
Have you gone to do all the fertility tests? Internal scans? Can you self-refer to a specialist?

VixFromThe6ix · 11/05/2021 20:21

@Sara345 sorry to hear you got another one... Hang in there ❤️

choccrumpet · 11/05/2021 20:36

I'm sorry @Sara345 I know how frustrating that is ❤️ from my experience GPs don't know enough about chemical losses and to get to a specialist takes time if going via NHS or money if going private. I am kind of 50/50 that it is luck and we only catch it because we test earlier nowadays and the other half of me thinks there must be something that modern medicine CAN do to help prevent them from happening / or to help a healthy pregnancy stick.

Basic bloods and ultrasound would be a good place to start like the @VixFromThe6ix mentioned.

Allow yourself time to grieve and be sad if you can and then when you feel good and strong enough keep believing that it will happen successfully one day because it will. Hope you are okay x

@roarfeckingroarr if you look at the definition of a chemical pregnancy you will see that indeed it is one. It's very insensitive of you to leave a comment like that.. not knowing might make it easier but in this case the OP did know hence the post.

roarfeckingroarr · 11/05/2021 23:44

This is why we have ultrasound limits etc l think it's cruel to give people so much early info with which to be so hurt. Why was my previously post deleted? This isn't a viable pregnancy

I had 8 in as many months, it completely broke me. I was not expecting it as i was pregnant with ds within a week off the pill. We said no more and move on. 8 months later, we slipped up, once. Dd is 18months old now and we all love her to bits. I think taking that break and letting my body reset and take a bit of time, no stress over ttc and pressure on myself helped massively.
