TTC 5+ years and a failed ICSI

Hi all,
I'm nearly 30 and I've been trying to conceive for 5 years. We've had a failed ICSI treatment in March due to hubby having less than 2% morphology and low motility. We've had some progress on these factors but even then my ICSI cycles failed to implant. I'm just loosing hope watching everyone around me go on to conceive their second now.
Has anyone got any stories that can give me some hope? Really struggling and the thought of another round of ICSI is just so daunting to me :/

Hi there, I'm sorry I don't have a story exactly like your situation but I wanted to leave a reply. I struggled to conceive for a year at the age of 32/33 and I fell pregnant 3 or 4 months after implementing the plan set out in the book It starts with the egg by rebecca fett - it has recommendations to improve sperm as well. I'm not sure if you have heard of it or tried any of it but it might help. Also have you considered getting a second or third opinion from another fertility specialist/s? i've seen a few now and they all have different tests/treatments to offer so it might be worth asking around to get some more options for you guys.
I'm hoping for success for you, the good news is you are still young so plenty of years left to figure this out and create the family you want. I know how tough it is (at my age of 33 people are onto their third kid!) but we have to keep going and we will get there in the end xx

We had to have ICSI due to male factor and I got my DD. 4 months after she was born I was pregnant again and have a DS, no IVF needed, really shocked. Hope it works for you soon.

I can. Exactly the same time scale and fertility issue. 5 years of failed ICSII attempts, followed by two children! And I was way, way older than you. Have a break for six months, try again when you feel fit and well and your life is a bit more in balance (I mean not revolving around medical treatment.) I really, really hope it works for you.

Keep an eye on your clinic's ICSII success rate and see if there is anywhere else you could go to increase your chances.

@Idk12345 it’s so hard and heartbreaking to go through. I have a DD from ICSI. It was my 4th transfer that worked (3rd fresh cycle). It can be a long journey, but it can work. Good luck x

@Theresa88 I've never heard of that book. What does it entail? And no I haven't seen other fertility specialists yet. I was referred to this clinic on the NHS and it was a satellite clinic nearby so convenient. My experience with them however wasn't the best and I wouldn't recommend them so maybe I should have a look around.

@silkiecats congrats! Nice to know it can happen. Hard to have that hope sometimes

@Cowbells thanks for replying. Were your two children from icsi btw?
And yeah I agree about the 6 months break. It's so mentally exhausting the whole process. Right now I'm still having that overwhelming feeling.

@BeHereNowx32 thank you for understanding. And congrats on your DD

@Idk12345 - yes both my children were from ICSII. I got older each time it failed but the clinic's success rate got better so we sort of balanced each other out!

Idk12345 · 09/07/2021 00:52

@Cowbells oh thats good to hear that after all that you've succeeded. It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life. Just today I found out my sis in law (41) has fallen pregnant accidentally. It's so difficult to hear :'(

We have dc through isci, we were told to plan for three cycles and anything less was a bonus.

It is emotionally the hardest thing I have ever done.

Small handhold OP.
