Ovulated twice?

Hello I was wondering if anyone else had had this happen to them.

I have used clearblue dual ovulation sticks. I got a positive last Friday - solid smiley. I then tested again today as noticed some fluid which I thought was strange and it gave me another solid smiley. Can't have ovulated twice so unsure what's going on.

Has anyone had this? I am quite confused now!

the static smiley detects LH surges. You can have multiple of these - it just means your body is trying to ovulate, it doesn't guarantee that it has (you can confirm this through temping). The last LH surge is the only one that counts though - anything prior are just failed attempts.

So jump on OH!

Yes, you can ovulate twice in one cycle. This is why fraternal twin pregnancies occur.

Some women regularly have more than one LH surge as @Juno231 says. I do. You can temp to confirm ovulation, or take a more relaxed approach and just dtd whenever you see fertile quality cervical fluid, even if it seems like the wrong time.

Obviously it's true that you can release more than one egg at ovulation (hence fraternal twins) but this still happens in basically the same event -- both eggs within 24 hours of each other.

Usually in multiple ovulation the two eggs are released within 24hrs of each other. But in some cases, they can be released days apart.
