I have an appointment with a Harley Street fertility clinic on Friday as they've been recommended to me for treating short LPs. I just felt dismissed by the NHS and that they didn't believe me. We've been TTC since June last year.
I've had the main tests already (ultrasound, CD3 bloods, CD21, thyroid, prolactin). I'm wondering if there is anything else worth exploring with the consultant? I know it's their job to suggest treatment but I want to be informed of the options so I can ask why he would or wouldn't recommend things. I have a history of pelvic infection which is why I'm wondering whether it's worth pursuing before treatment to maximise chance of success.
What I want to say is that even though we haven't been TTC for 12 months, I have had more cycles than most people have in a year because my LP is so short. My AMH is the lower end of the normal range for my age, I am 33 and want two kids and know it's recommended to have a break of ~18 months between kids. Therefore can we please be as proactive as possible in getting me pregnant now. I know that short LP alone isn't a cause of infertility, but in my case I feel like it is impeding me and I would like to treat this now on a basis of 'won't hurt, might help' rather than continuing to 'wait and see'.
Does that sound reasonable? Is there anything you would ask if you were me? I got my period yesterday so hoping the appointment is good timing. I just feel so angry and frustrated and like something is definitely wrong. I want someone to listen to me and this is my last shot before I try self-treatment with soy isoflavones, progesterone cream, vitex etc which I have steered away from because I know they can mess you up but by that point I'll have nothing to lose.
Sorry for a bit of a rant here - I don't want to leave the appointment feeling like stones have been left unturned so looking for pointers and pep talks!
