6DPO 1st TWW nervous and obsessing!

Hi All, this is the first time I have gone through the TWW, it fascinates me that we spend years trying not to get pg and now I am a bag of nerves! I am a very driven person, everything I set my mind to I aim to achieve and this feels like its based on luck! I think I have done everything right... ovulation testing, LH surge, timed sex etc and now I am 6DPO. I don't feel any different and I seem to spend so much time googling TWW symptoms and obsessing over it. Two of my best friends are pg and it happened on their first try, my over achieving nature is kicking in and causing me to obsess! Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hiya, I'm 7dpo today on my second cycle TTC. The first cycle was in January but then didn't try on purpose for the two cycles in-between because of my covid vaccine. I have two little boys aged 4 and 2 so this is DC3 we are trying for. Is this everyone else's DC1? I've been quite calm so far but I'm usually more relaxed in the first week of a tww anyway, so we will see if that changes next week. Haven't googled any phantom symptoms as yet anyway. Both my boys took around 6 months of trying for xx

@JoannaJellyBean This is cycle 3 for us of trying 🤞 although cycle 2 wasn't a great attempt 😂

Definitely remember the feeling of cycle 1... part of you praying to be first time lucky and another pessimistic part thinking you couldn't be that lucky! I'm way calmer now than cycle 1 so it gets easier!

I'm trying to wait until 11/12DPO to test as any earlier and you'll really doubt a BFN. We'll see how my willpower lasts though! 😉

@AAR25 So I did a bit of research on this and came across the below, which is based on pregnancy test accuracy (now of course everyone is different).

Days before AF:
6 days - 25%
5 days - 33%
4 days - 42%
3 days - 68%
2 days - 81%
1 day - 93%
Day of AF - 96%
1 day after AF due - 100%

Which is why I am testing 1 day before Smile

@Violet1988 Welcome Smile yes I am DC1

@Annabelle0852 you summed that up perfectly, that is exactly how I feel! It doesn't help that two of my best friends got pg on the 1st cycle too. Thanks for the reassurance that it does get easier, have to keep it positive and stay calm and relaxed! You know what they say, 3 is the charm so fingers crossed for this one! I am waiting till 13dpo I think given it will be the bank holiday it will help take my mind off it. I am really bloated today and feel a bit weird (that is the best way I can describe it) but because I only had my implant out in January it could just be proper PMS....

I believe in you, keep the willpower, "all good things come to those that wait!" and then like you say there won't be any doubt Smile

@JoannaJellyBean oh wow thank you that's so useful! Going to try and stick it out til next Thursday then

Morning Ladies, I need some advice.... I am 9dpo today and woke up this morning and there was a bleed, it was too much to be spotting in my opinion and was bright red, how can AF have come 5 days early? I definitely ovulated so it's not like I confused the window, I had the LH surge, I have the egg white mc. Is it maybe because I had my implant out in Jan and my body still isn't in a pattern?

I'm delighted to let you know that I got my bfp today :) it's still faint so early days but I've taken 5 tests today (couldn't help myself) and I've already got some progression so 🤞 it keeps going.

@JoannaJellyBean hmm similar happened to me last month but I was still adjusting to my cycles. It might take them a few months to settle down. How you feeling today?

AliBear90 · 06/04/2021 07:07

Well I’m just coming to the end of my period now, so it wasn’t the month for me. Onto month 2 of ttc now. As soon as this period is fully over I’m going to start using opks to make sure I don’t miss my ovulation this month

JoannaJellyBean · 13/04/2021 08:41

@BrodieKD congratulations! Your message was BH Friday, how is the line now??!!! Sorry I fell off the face of the earth, as soon as I have some time off work over the BH takes me a few days to get back on track. AF came for me but still feeling positive as like you said going to take a few cycles to settle down, it has been a weird AF this month normally it only last 4 days, this has been 8/9 days but towards the end there were days I wouldn't bleed then days I would but really light, weird..... I realised I needed to get out of my head for this, so since the gyms have opened up I have started doing a morning swim. Hope everyone else is well!

@AliBear90 we are now on the same journey Smile keep me posted!

@JoannaJellyBean are we the same person?! My period was weird like that too. And I’ve just finished my morning swim! I do need to get fitter / lose weight though so figured it will all help with conceiving xx

@JoannaJellyBean my lines are really dark now which is just fab. I have an early scan booked in for 2 May so less than 3 weeks to go. I'll feel much better once I've seen the scan and finally told my mum. I was going to tell her tomorrow (her birthday) but we've had a bereavement in the family so I am going to hold off until after the scan so that it's a bit of a happier time. Hopefully your cycles start to settle down. That does seem like a weird af. I hope you had a lovely birthday :)
