Hello ladies

Been here on and off for a while now. TTC for way longer than I care to remember now and I am getting to the end of my tether 🤣

I’m ovulating and DPs SA was all good so As far as docs are concerned everything should be working as expected 🤞🏼

I’m considering OvuSense but wanted to hear how anyone else’s experiences of using this went? Good or bad I’m all ears!!

Thanks x

Love mine. Been using for 5 cycles.

Cycle 5 was interesting for me as thought I’d ovulated but didn’t. Would’ve never known without Ovusense.

Hey @Cha0907. Ttc can really suck. I got pregnant the first cycle using Ovusense then had a EMC. then got pregnant 3 months later using it and now have my lovely 6mo. I had been ttc for 9 months before trying Ovusense. It took 10 months to conceive my eldest. Good luck.

Hi @Redpanda21

That is interesting. I’ve had day 21 bloods at docs last year and they said I was ovulating but hearing things like this always make me doubt that it’s happening every cycle.

Hi @5finger4head. It so does. Sorry to hear about your EMC. I believe I had same back in October 2019 but never went to docs and hadn’t actually heard of it until about 4 months later. When I eventually went to docs as we have struggled it was like they weren’t interested that could have happened. I guess I will never know. Good to hear you had good experience with OvuSense. I think I will purchase this weekend 😊

Would 100% recommend! I have pcos & had very low 21 day bloods, turns out I'm not actually ovulating till cd21/cd23!! So wouldn't have known that without ovusense. Think they have 20% off at the moment, check on Facebook or Instagram.

5finger4head · 08/04/2021 06:52

@Cha0907 did you decide to go for it?

Cha0907 · 08/04/2021 21:57

Hello @Dancingfairydreams good to hear it has helped you identify when you are ovulating!

@5finger4head I didn’t purchase the other weekend decided to wait just incase this month was the month but AF turned up yesterday so it will be getting purchased this week and hopefully it will help 🤞🏼

I used ovusense to conceive dd. May be coincidence but after a year TTC fell pregnant first cycle with ovusense. Just coming off pill now for #2 so have renewed my subscription to track cycle for a couple of months before hopefully being able to try properly!

Hey. Been using mine for 2 cycles now and I've got my pros and cons about it.

Pros

  • My doctor's and I thought that I wasn't ovulating as day21 bloods have always shown low progesterone. GP/Gynae have been holding out prescribing Clomid so it's good to know I don't actually need it.
  • They have a good customer support team who will answer questions on your chart (within 5 hours too!).
  • I'd say the thermometer itself is much more accurate/reliable as it measures your core body temperature so if you need to get up for a wee during the night then it won't affect your temperatures in the morning.

Cons

  • In the two cycles I've been using it, I'm not sure it's been accurate either time. Cycle 1 it said I O'd 3 days after starting use but then AF came 9 days later. Either coincidence and proved LPD, or was incorrect about my date. Cycle 2 it said I O'd CD15; Femometer, Fertility Friend and Flo all said CD26. I sent it off to their Tech Team to have a look and they confirmed CD26 so they're having to remove two temp readings from my chart so their algorithm will pick up on the right date.
  • They have an online community but they're on Facebook only. If you're one of the few people who, like me, don't use it then there's no alternative. It's hard to find people online who use the device that you can talk to.
  • The app is very basic. It's a simple BBT chart and doesn't give you any insight to your temps - only confirms O and the rest of the guesswork is up to you. This is why I use it alongside other apps.
  • £20 a month fee for what is essentially a posh thermometer, on top of the £100 cost to buy
  • You have to replace the device after a year
  • It says it's accurate at providing a fertility window, even if you have PCOS, but it actually bases it off your previous cycles so if you have PCOS and ovulate at different times then you will never have an accurate est window. This makes it easy to miss them so you very much have to BD every other night or use alongside OPKs.

All in all, I'd say I like it purely because it's easier in the sense that you don't have to worry about getting up at the same time each morning, or that waking up mid-night will affect your temperatures.
