Anyone TTC with clotting and flooding?
My periods are just awful at the moment so painful and so heavy I'm in the toilet every hour on my heaviest flow days.

Can't wait for a BFP. To see the back of them for a year Grin

Me! I've been diagnosed with PCOS. I do have a 29 day cycle though so for 29 days why I am running around changing every hour is beyond me!

These are my tips

  1. Use a menstrual cup (I didn't start using one until June last year but they are amazing! I cannot cope without them! - So I used to change a super plus tampon every 1 hour on days 1 - 3 but with the cups I can change it every 2.5 hours. I do wear a pad underneath just in case I leak
  2. Painkillers - I honestly don't even wait for the pain to kick in I just take them every 4 hours, if I wait for the pain to kick in it takes ages before it goes away
  3. Hot water bottle - So this works for me now that I am working from home but if I was in the office I used to fill up a normal water bottle with hot water and just hold it towards my belly (half pretending I am going to be drinking out of it soon.

I am the same as you. Just want a BFP so I don't have to put up with this too long. This is also the reasons why I am happy to literally have a 1 yr gap between my kids and start trying straight away.

My gynae told me he'll need to put me on contraceptives if I want periods that are manageable so just want to have my kids before I go on contraceptives for good. Unfortunately with PCOS that's just not happening quick enough!

I have / had this. It took 2.5 years to get pregnant as well.

I recommend ibuprofen or getting something similar from the doctor to manage the flow and pain. I put it off because I knew ibuprofen isn't allowed when pregnant. Took me for too long to realise that if my period was there it didn't matter that I was taking something not allowed when pregnant 🤦‍♀️

The good news is that since having my babies the pain has almost totally gone. The bad news is they are even heavier than before :(

I did and it was due to a uterine fibroid which I had removed. Word of warning, regular ibuprofen use can affect fertility so whilst is is great for period pain I would leave it for last resort if you are TTC.
