I came off the pill in November, and my periods have been non existent until February when I finally had one.
I have started using the Clear Blue fertility monitor, and it says you should not have more than 10 days showing high. I have :( And no peak.
I know it's early days but I can't help but feel like it is never going to happen.
I am more than likely being impatient, but I can't help but feel worried as i am heading for 4 months since I stopped my pill.

@laurag1989 hi lovely. I haven’t really got any good advice, but I have been TTC for over a year now (14 months, 15 cycles) after coming off the pill January 2020. I must say, I feel like it took an entire year for my body to adjust to coming off the pill. I never found my peak last year, but have recently started clear blue again and manage to catch my peak!! Albeit, no pregnancy yet 😔 it really sucks and it’s so tough. But try not to worry, it’s very normal to take 1-2 years to fall pregnant. Some are just very lucky x

Marghe87 · 20/03/2021 19:40

I know this is not going to help but it is perfectly normal for healthy and fertile couples to take up to a year. I won’t tell you not to think about it as it’s impossible not to but at least do try not to worry.
It took us 7 cycles to conceive DD naturally. The only thing we did differently that month was dtd every day for a week or so during ovulation (rather than just 3-4 times as we did the previous months).
Good luck! You’ll get there x

Hi Op, try not to worry at 4 months, it can take much longer or could be next month.

I think you need to use the monitor for a couple of months for it to adjust to your cycle. Mine seems to be more “normal” readings by month 3 (out of about 14 in total) using it. It gave me lots of highs until peak, bear with it for a couple of months and it should improve.

@Izzie94
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. I do not know anyone going through this at the same time as me, so I was not sure whether to worry or not.
You have really put my mind at ease thank you, to know that this is not unusual.
I was under the illusion I would come off the pill, and it would happen but I realise that is not the case for everyone.
Good luck on your TTC journey, it sounds so promising that you are getting the peak reading now.

@Marghe87
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post, it is extremely helpful hearing others experiences. It does not feel like I am alone in this anymore.
That could be where we are going wrong, dtd 3-4 times. May try increasing that and hope for the best!
I will keep using the fertility tracker too, this is the first full month of using it, and do not think that my body is back to normal yet since finishing the pill.
Thanks so much, I maybe need to find some more patience.

@thislittlebird
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. I really do appreciate hearing all advice, and stories of other peoples journeys.

That is really good to know about the monitor, I think I am currently on day 14 of High... still waiting for peak, and it tells you to refer to the booklet if longer than 10 days high, and to speak to a doctor which made me even more worried haha!

This is the first month of using it, as I have not had a monthly cycle properly since coming off of the pill until this month so I could not start using it.

I will keep using it, and hopefully as you mentioned it should start to become a bit more normal in terms of the readings.

No worries @laurag1989. Hopefully it works better for you the more you use it.

What day did you start testing? I was getting highs from day 8 until 16/17/18, then peak, so you might just ovulate a bit later. Obviously if you never get a peak after two or three months then it’s worth mentioning to the doctor, but I would wait until you’ve used it a couple of months in case it’s just a calibration thing. Hopefully you’ll get a peak this month!

laurag1989 · 22/03/2021 22:00

@thislittlebird
It told me to start testing on day 5, i had two days of low and now 16 days of highs but no peak yet. I will keep testing though, i have ordered some more ovulation sticks.
Hoping i will see a peak, could just be that my cycle is still not right yet.

Yeah you may need more time to adjust @laurag1989. Later ovulation is normal too, see how it goes. Good luck!

laurag1989 · 25/03/2021 20:18

@thislittlebird
I really hope so, cant help but worry it will never happen.
I am likely being dramatic, but its all I can think about now.

I feel like this all the time too. TTC baby #1 for 10 months now and nothing :(

I've just started using OPKs and will track BBT from next month (if I need to!) which should help but I've also decided that we maybe weren't DTD often enough, we focused on when we thought my fertile period was but probably better to just get at it every 2-3 days throughout the cycle!

It really does bring me down sometimes but it is normal to feel like this and normal for it to take 1-2 years.

My partner thinks I worry about it too much (which I do haha) but I think everyone does to a degree.

You'll get that BFP one day Grin

@Jellybean792
Your time will come soon, i know how you must be feeling though.

My husband thinks exactly the same, that i think about too much. He is also probably right, but once i have something on my mind i cant help it.

I was literally just looking at thermometers to start tracking that way, but chances are I may need a little longer for my cycles to be normal.

I am trying to eat healthier, exercise often etc to maybe help things too.

Thank you @Jellybean792

I really hope that your cycles become normal soon.

I have read that healthy eating and exercise can really help.

Its been a while since I came on here, but finally feel like I have some good news to talk about.

I had a normal ish cycle finally, and started to track using my clear blue fertility tracker again. Yesterday and today I finally have Peak!!!!!

I can't believe it, I know that does not necessarily mean it will happen this month, but it fills me with so much more confidence that my body is finally starting to work normally after coming off the pill.

I have everything crossed though, I also bought a thermometer as I was going to start tracking that way too. I may just all the ways of tracking in hope something will finally work.
