I seem to loose all (well i think) of dh's delivery soon after withdrawal. we do the whole legs up thing (very cosy cuddle with his leg under my bum like a pillow) have even treid the wall theory but several mins or hours later as soon as i move out it dribbles! sometimes later in day but sometimes instantly. we're ttc no.2 and have just started investigations as it's been two years of trying! anyone got any tips?

(did read somewhere that they rub lady horses bits with stingy nettles to make her swell to keep it in! really not going that far though!)

Have no Suggestions hunni, except to keep bum in the air lol

My DP doesn't produce enough cum to worry about loosing it!!! lol

Some loss of fluid post intercourse is entirely normal. I would assure you that this is seminal fluid, certainly not all his sperm.

It is unnecessary to have legs in the air post intercourse and its a myth you have to do this; enough sperm will get to the cervix post ejaculation from where it will not escape.

Am glad you are being referred to a specialist; both of you should be tested in tandem with blood tests and ultrasounds for you and semen analyses (more than one is required)for him initially. Sperms are complicated things and there is much about these that is unknown.

At two years of ttc without success there is likely to be a problem preventing conception with either one or equally both of you. Possible male factor problems must be looked for at the same time you are being tested.

My tips for you are as follows:-

You should both attend the initial appointment with the consultant. Write down anything you want to ask well ahead of time. Do not leave there thinking, "oh I should have asked this".

If you ahve had any previous abdominal surgery mention this. You should both give the cons a full medical history - they should ask you about your menstrual history along with how long it took to conceive your first child.

Make sure you both fully understand why a test is being carried out prior to it being done.

There is absolutely no need to put legs in the air post intercourse.

Do not temp chart or use ovulation predictor kits

Erm I would go for the stinging nettles - LOL.

Most of it reaches it's destination within 5 mins or so I read. I would try to kep it in for 20 mins abefore letting the excess fall out.

Attila whats wrong with ovulation prediction kits?

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/11/2007 14:36

MuppetMuggle

I would get him to his GP (and doubtless he will not be thrilled at the prospect but this is truly no reflection on his masculinity or virility). Many men do not like being tested for such reasons.

If you're really concerned the surest way to see if there is a possible male factor problem is for him to have a semen analysis. There may be a medical reason; it should be investigated further.

I would have thought the injection has thrown things out of sync rather than the c-section.

Again, would seek medical advice re this as I'm not medically trained at all.

TheMuppetMuggle · 07/11/2007 14:39

Thanks honey - will tackle that in the New Year, we are house hunting so that is quite stressful at the moment.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/11/2007 14:40

OPK's are of no real use if the menstrual cycle is irregular. If you are one of many women who are producing higher than average levels of LH (which is what such kits measure) then the kit will read that. Also they work on two misleading principles; namely that women only have one rise in LH every month and that such a rise is immediately followed by ovulation. Both of these are not true.

buy a mooncup from boots and get him to pop his contribution inside. then pop it in you. do the bum up thing then leave it in for 12 hours.

Legs in air (helps to put them on the wall) for 20 mins, pillow under your hips so your tilted the right way and don't move too much!
