Ovulation calendars all giving different fertile weeks

TTC, 2nd month. I was curious and wen on a few different websites for ovulation calendars and hey all predict different weeks. I was going by the femometer app and DTD more often when it suggested my fertile window was. I've just checked a few others - Clearblue, Tommys, the one on here and there all different by up to 5 days either way. Now I'm thinking I completely missed it! I guess I need to be better at using OPKs but just wondering whether anyone had a preferred one, or knew the most reliable?

Hi, I’m in the same boat, all different dates depending on which app or calculator you use. I’ve started using the premom app as you can uploads a picture of your opk and it tells a you how high your levels are etc. It’s the one I’ve found easiest to use.
Just been using the cheap opk’s for now to see how I get on. I’ve looked at the clear blue ones, but as they’re more expensive, I’ve decided to see how the cheap ones are first in terms of reliability.

Hope this helps, I’m also on my 2nd month, so still so new to this too xx

How much data have you inserted? The predictions change based on the amount of data you can put in. So I imagine one off calculators will be completely off potentially vs apps where you can track month on month.

How long are your cycles? If you have a bog standard 28 day cycle you can cover yourself by DTD every other day from CD10 to CD20 basically and not worry about the rest.

Just to add - the only way to know when you ovulate is through tracking your temperature but def start with OPKs just to get an idea of when roughly it might be!

If you're relatively regular in your cycle then a combination of OPKs, temping and keeping an eye on your EWCM should do it (or any one of these really, some women are more into this kind of thing than others). The calendars by themselves don't mean very much.

I binned them all. I used OPKs and got to know my cervical mucus Blush

Anyway it worked. The month we got pregnant was the month I didn’t use an app at all. I mean how can they really know? It’s just an estimate.

Thanks everyone. I feel a little calmer.

The femometer one I've been using for a number of months @Juno231, and it was the other one-off ones that threw me off, so I think what you're saying the consistency of using one and not searching around for others is good. My cycle is 32 days so we probably need to add a few more times DTD either side of the window. It was 5 times between CD12 and CD18 this time. So I panicked that we didn't keep going for long enough. I don't want it to feel like its a chore though, when my partner got home from work on CD19 which my app suggested was the day after ovulation, he looked defeated and exhausted Grin

I have a thermometer so will start using that as well now. I was trying to be low stress about it, but that didn't last long Grin

I uploaded a few photos of the OPKs via their intelligent recognition which sounds similar to premom app @DanniF02? good luck with your TTC!

@SmidgenofaPigeon @EssentialHummus good to know - I also saw a stark difference between UK and US ones so will not focus too much on the calendar and try and get more organised with temperature/OPKs/CM
