TTC prep: which vitamins to take

Hi everyone, I will be TTC later this year and I’d like to start taking vitamins in preparation. I’ve read a lot of stories about prenatals messing up cycles, and I don’t want to take too many unnecessary vitamins, so I am going to take individual vitamins instead. Folic acid, vitamin d, and iron tablets as I’ve been low on iron in the past. Does this sound OK? Would love to hear what are others doing?

I should add that I will be doing other things to prepare, but just wondering about vitamins with this particular post :-)
Is vitamin c something else I should add?

@Lagirl20 I personally haven’t started prenatals because I heard stories about them messing cycles up. However plenty people on these boards do so maybe worth doing some more searching on these?

I’m taking Folic Acid, Vitamin C & D I’m newly TTC so i have started there for now. When are you looking to start TTC?

I like the Proceive ones, they have high levels of vitamins and extras like Co Q10, and haven’t messed up my cycle (Pregnacare previously has).

Hi, I am currently taking folic acid, Vitamins B12, C & D, iron, CoQ10, Zinc and omega3.
I think vitamin E is beneficial too so I am going to start taking that as well.
I would say definitely add Zinc into yours, I only take the CoQ10 due to my age so if your young I wouldn't bother.
Good luck TTC

Definitely take folic acid and vitamin D a good multivitamin is fine just make sure to swap of for one without vitamin a when you fall pregnant.

If your BMI is near, at or over 30 you need to have 5mg of folic acid rather than the RDA of .4mg It has to be prescribed but it prevents NTDs.
