BBT chart advice?

This is my first month tracking BBT and using OPKs but several months into TTC.

I am not sure in all honesty what to make of my chart so far Confused

I have used OPKs roughly around 11am each time, and BBT has been between normally 5.30 - 7.30am (my cat has the awful habit of waking me each morning so it varies).

Does this look normal so far? It doesn't seem to follow a predictable pattern like I expected. For reference my periods have been off since TTC, ranging from 20-27 days.

Hi! Taking your temperature at different times of the morning can have quite a big impact on your BBT (it can vary by a degree or so over two hours) but I would imagine we would still see some increased BBT pattern if you had ovulated.

I am going to assume from your chat that you haven't ovulated... yet. I often have very long cycles and some women will get the occasional long cycle. My advise if to keep testing for Ov and keep temping, hopefully the pattern will emerge!

Hello - as Kay said it's pretty important to temp same time every day. It's a full 0.1C difference per hour usually.

I'd use fertility friend for tracking - it's far easier to detect patterns with and their algorithm to detect ovulation is a lot more accurate than femometer I'd say.

You do seem to have a slight increase in temps towards the end of the chart though (can't see the dates or CDs to be more specific) so potentially you ovulated on the 20th? I see the LH reading might be in line with this as well. Pop it into FF and double check :)

@Juno231 @Kay00 Thank you both, I'll input onto FF and see if there's a difference and repost.

Woop told you cd20 looked like the day! Fingers crossed for you :)

sasbiscuit · 23/02/2021 08:03

Thanks @Juno231!

CD20 is a lot later than I expected so I reckon I've been missing the window in the last few months of TTC Blush

@sasbiscuit how long have your last few cycles been? This could just be a slightly longer one

sasbiscuit · 23/02/2021 10:18

@Juno231 pretty chaotic since TTC - 31, 27, 20, 20, 27, and last one was 19.

That is chaotic! Have you come off the pill recently by any chance? On the bright side - the 20 day ones would have had a far earlier ovulation than this cycle so I don't think you will have been missing them. Looks like you might have another 30-32 day cycle on this time :)

sasbiscuit · 23/02/2021 14:20

@Juno231 not recently in my opinion- April 2020. Straight off pill I was 28-30 days Confused

For anyone who is interested I have continued on with tracking - CD29 and 8/9dpo with no AF yet.

Would anyone say yesterday could have been an implantation dip or am I being too hopeful?

@sasbiscuit your chart is looking good! Very clear temp shift although I'd still argue CD20 would have been ovulation! As for implantation dips - they're commonly called that but temp wise are caused by a surge in oestrogen which is quite common around that stage. Lots of my charts have had them but alas no BFP yet!

Your RHR is also looking good still, fingers crossed this is it for you Grin

sasbiscuit · 01/03/2021 20:08

@Juno231 yes I'd agree! FF differed by one day compared to Femometer.

Ok I won't get my hopes up Grin
