How long to wait TTC after LLETZ?

Hello everyone,

I have CIN2 abnormal cervical cells following a colposcopy on 6 Jan. As I'm only 25 and this was my first smear, my doctor advised waiting a few months to see if the cells improved before carrying out the LLETZ. Her reasoning was that as a LLETZ can increase the risk of miscarriage and I hadn't yet had a baby, if there was a possibility of holding off we should take it. I should say that she did explain that the risk was minimal and I shouldn't be too worried. She just explained that there's a high chance I would need to have the procedure done a couple of more times in my future, and with each time the risk could increase. I agreed it was best to wait.

I have my next appointment on 2nd March, a bit earlier than I expected. She had initially said I would be brought back in after 6 months. I explained to my doctor I was going to start ttc and she told me it was okay as any treatment, if needed, could wait until after I gave birth (if I got pregnant within the 6 month timeframe).

She may have just had second thoughts about leaving it that long, either way I'm happy to go in for the appointment. Any chance to see my cervix on that big screen 😂 I have prepared myself that I'm likely to have the LLETZ treatment so my partner and I are going to hold off trying this week (fertile) to avoid a pregnancy vs treatment situation, obviously my health takes precedence over ttc.

My questions to ladies who have had the treatment before, is if you were told how long to wait to ttc? I know sex is off limits for 4 weeks, but will I be healed enough after that to jump back in?

I will obviously ask when I go but I was curious if anyone knew whats usually recommended?

Thank you all!
