I've been ttc for a little bit now and nothing...I know this happens to loads and lots of women. Just devastating when the two lines don't appear.

I was taking 7 seas just before Christmas but my 10th of December period never showed because of the tablets so I stopped taking them. Eventually had a period on the 5th of January then my February period was 10 days late so I'm guessing my cycles have messed up.

I only go by 2 period tracking apps. I'm now finding out this isn't a good way to find out when you ovulate.

So my question is how many days after your period do you ovulate??

It varies from person to person. 'Textbook' would be 14 days.

Mine varies from cycle to cycle, most commonly I ovulate on CD16 (CD1 being first day of red period bleeding) and have a 29 day cycle, but I have ovulated on CD12 and up to CD21 (most recent cycle and got BFP).

Apps can only guess really, your best option is OPKs to track precisely when you ovulate - I would recommend Clearblue Dual Hormone Digital (purple one), it is about £27 on amazon but worth it in my opinion. Once you put the details in the apps from OPKs (low, high or peak) it will readjust x

I usually ovulate cd15 and have a 26-27 day cycle.
I would start using opk, and also temping is a good way to know for sure when you have ovulated.

It depends how long your cycles are. My cycles are longer, so last month I ovulated on day 26. Ovulation will be 10-16 days before the day you start your period. So for your January period, you probably ovulated somewhere between the 20th December and 26th December depending on how long your LP is.

You can use OPKs to detect your surge in the LH hormone and ovulation will follow approximately a day later. Therefore you’re most fertile when an OPK shows the strongest test line). The only way to confirm ovulation is with basal body temperature. However, there are a number of other signs that you look for to indicate when you are ovulating. Have a google of them and pay close attention to your body and you’ll start to get a sense of when you’re ovulating.

Okay, Thankyou ladies I'm gonna have a google and see what's what.

I just feel really shocked that I don't know my body this well to be honest😬 it's mad you're taught about periods in school minimally and nothing else about your cycle haha

100%

And you're taught that basically everyone has a 28 day cycle and should be clockwork, when the reality is everyone is so different! Don't worry though, it doesn't necessarily affect your chances of pregnancy, you just need to pinpoint your fertile time - such a small window! x

@unknownttc sex education is majorly lacking, right!?

I've learned so much about my body / cycle since TTC this time around. I find temping hugely interesting. Worth looking into!

Has your partner had a sperm test to see how fertile THEY are? Well worth it if having problems. At least it will narrow things down a bit.

Honestly me and a friend had this conversation recently when they fell pregnant that we don't have a clue about our body's in that way because it's not taught! We get taught how to get pregnant basically but don't get taught how our body manages it haha
