So I got my BFP today at 12DPO☺️

My mum has advised me to tell my Manager at work ASAP. I'm a Family Worker which involves going into lots of homes, sometimes there is not the space to social distance.

I have only just found it and it is SO EARLY so naturally do not want to tell anyone at work. However, my job does put me at risk so maybe I should?

I would welcome some advice please 😊 What would you do?

Thankyou 💕

I left out the key word... Covid of course!

Yes, you will need to be risk assessed.

At 12dpo have you even missed a period yet? It seems a little premature to be discussing with manager. I'd wait a couple of weeks.

But I guess since I've had a couple of very early losses I am biased.

I'm surprised at the advice from your mum, mine was very much the opposite! I would wait a week or two, just in case of a chemical or early loss. But it's up to you OP.

The only reason to not tell right away is if you'd not want/need time off in the unfortunate (unlikely) event of a miscarriage.

Your employer needs to do a risk assessment and this can be done confidentially to avoid telling whole staff.

@Dixie1488 I told my manager straight away, but unfortunately lost it a week or so later, I felt so embarrassed for telling her so I regret it. I work in a GP surgery so it’s quite risky where I work. They said that they do risk assessments at 12 weeks so I could have waited a bit longer before they needed to know x

Considering your job, I would tell them. In the worst case scenario, you might need some time off or understanding in the event of a miscarriage. I hope all goes well.
