Vaccine and ttc

I'm booked to get the AZ vaccine tomorrow through work and I'm currently in tww, period is due Saturday. Has anyone been vaccinated in the same position? I've researched it and it states there's no concerns so far with regards to ttc and pregnant women although they advise against it unless high risk in pregnancy but I'm just a little worried in case I do happen to be pregnant. Just looking for positive experiences 🙂 also I don't want to test yet as I have major backache so feeling like af is readying itself!

Not quite the same position but I just had mine. Difference was I knew there was no chance of being pregnant, mostly because it was cd2 for me. I will say I had a rough reaction, I’m on day 3 now and went through full flu symptoms, upset stomach and some cold symptoms today. Can you do a test before you have it? You sound like you think af is coming anyway.

I'm getting it at 9 in the morning and have no tests in 😔 it was all very last minute and booked late this morning after I recieved a text to say I could go for it and to ring and book. I've just ordered some that are coming tomoro but it'll be too late by the time they arrive. Fingers crossed I just get mild side effects if any. Thank you for replying. If I am pregnant hopefully it'll be too early for it to have any effect on the pregnancy

There must be hundreds of women getting the vaccine not knowing that they're pregnant. the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks in this situation. FWIW, I've had my first one and now TTC. if I do get pregnant before my second one I'll be literally weeks so will talk to my doctor and do a risk assessment.

Like everything, it is hard to test on pregnant women, which is why they initially said wait. I have had several colleagues have it whilst pregnant. Also biologically, right at the start of pregnancy your baby isn't really attached to you as it takes a while for the placenta to form, so nothing could cross the placenta anyway.

I had the jab whilst breastfeeding, so looked into it a bit. Catching COVID is a far bigger risk to ttc, pregnancy, breastfeeding. The jab is no real risk to these, it's just impossible to state it is risk free, in the way that going for a walk to the postbox is not risk free but generally fine!

I did OP, well I'd known I was pregnant a week! I weighed up the risks and went for it after discussing with my GP. Just to say though they'll ask you if there's a chance you're pregnant and if you say yes they may not give it to you unless you have discussed with GP so might be worth checking before the appointment.

Thank you all, I went for it and I agree the benefits far outweigh the risks. It wasn't a private room and it was full of my work colleagues so when answering the questions I just said no. I'm pleased it's done
